Wow, that was quite an entertaining watch, grats to Morand!(Looks highly competitive, maybe I should go looking for a seat...) A shame Lee wasn't there due to connection issues:frown:

Bono Huis won the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix followed by Fredrik Nilsson (Twister-Racing) and Dennis Hirrle (Mak-Corp Racing) Sister Mak-Corp Racing driver Mikko Puumalainen finished in 4th with Cyril Werdmuller finishing in 5th. Raino Room, John Eric-Saxen and Dimitri De Matos finished in 6th, 7th and 8th after driving the entire race only a few seconds apart. Muhammed Patel finished in 9th, closely followed by Martin Gosbee.

With only nine drivers setting a time in Qualifying 2, Bono Huis took pole by over half a second to Fredrik Nilsson. Nilsson beat Hirrle by nearly four tenths. The German pipped Karim Wezenberg to third. Mikko Puumalainen qualified in 5th. Werdmuller, Saxén, De Matos and Brljak were separated by just 4 tenths of a second.

Drama struck before the start when Karim Wezenberg stalled his car, and Muhammed Patel jumped the start. Huis was able to maintain the lead at the start, he slowly pulled away from Nilsson, Hirrle and Puumalainen. The mid-field was tightly bunched together, with Ward-F1 driver Lee Morris struggling and holding the pack up. They were slowly pulling away from Blair Disley who was holding up Mark Aalberts. Lee Morris retired in the opening few laps after a few mistakes, the Britain finally hit the wall, losing his front wing and retiring, a few laps later, Aalberts clipped the inside wall on the penultimate corner, losing his front wing and also retiring.

It became apparent that the whole field was split between strategy; the whole Twister team went on a 1 stop bar Fredrik Nilsson. Similar story with the Precision drivers, where Cyril Werdmuller and Mikko Puumalainen opted for a 1 stop stratergy, wheras Huis and Hirrle opted for a 2 stop strategy. It might have worked for Puumalainen, who inherited the lead briefly, and also later on in the race took 2nd for a few laps until Nilsson and Hirrle passed him. Further down the field, Lapchin was able to make his 2 stop strategy pay off, passing Patel, De Matos, Saxén and Room, but the ATR driver nullified his hard work with a retirement in the closing stages of the race.

The last 10 laps of the race saw Patel considerably drop pace, it became apparent after the race the 2FAST4U Twister-Racing driver was forced to protect his brakes. This allowed Martin Gosbee to close up and attempt to pass Patel, but he was unable to pass the Britain. On the final lap, both Patel lost his front left brake, and Gosbee was unable to make 25 laps on the Soft tyres last.

Bono Huis made his 2 stop stratergy work, winning the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix by over half a minute to Fredrik Nilsson who came ontop in the battle between Hirrle. Puumalainen dropped 10 seconds to the pair in front, finishing a comfortable 4th ahead of Werdmuller, Room, Saxén, De Matos. The four drivers were separated by just 7 seconds. Patel and Gosbee rounded out the points paying positions.

Nice to see Hirrle continue to do well :) And you can tell Puumalainen really wants a win with his form recently. Morrand was too strong at Japan, and now this week he just couldn't hold off the machine that is Huis.

Great racing. Let's hope we can see Bono Huis in action in another car in the future as well. Really curious how he will perform in an LMP1 in the Le Mans Series for example.

Bono Huis has won the season finale, leading a Precision Motorsports 1, 2, 3 and 4 with Mikko Puumalainen and Jaakko Mikkonen on the remaining two spots of the podium. Dennis Hirrle finished in 4th. The first non-Precision Motorsport driver was Morgan Morand, half a minute off the lead. He was closely followed by John-Eric Saxén with Brljak, Werdmuller and Kostadinov rounding out the points paying positions.

A tight qualifying session, with the top 9 separated by just half a second saw reigning world champion Bono Huis take pole by just over a tenth to Mikko Puumalainen. Hirrle qualified in 3rd, just 9 thousandths of a second off his teammate with Fredrik Nilsson and Jaakko Mikkonen in fourth and fifth. The four drivers were separated by less than one tenth. Qualifying 6th was Yannick Lapchin and competing in the World Championship race, hours after winning the World Trophy Brazillian GP was Martin Gosbee. 8th was Patrick De Wit with Saxén and Room rounding out the top 10.

Huis and Puumalainen battled in the opening stages, allowing Nilsson to maintain the gap to the two leaders. However, when Nilsson attempted his scheduled pitstop he slammed into the tyre barrier retiring from the race, ending a trophy-less season for the Twister-Racing team. Gosbee was also having a good race, but after a minor excursion off the track resulting in the Britain dropping 8 seconds behind Hirrle.

Just like the previous races, Huis slowly pulled out a gap to his Precision Motorsports teammate, leaving the rest to squabble. The three Precision cars were separated by under four seconds with Morgan Morand finishing in 5th after a battle with Martin Gosbee in which the Ghostspeed driver passed the Frenchman. However, Gosbee slammed into the wall from fifth, needing repairs the Britain exited the pits in 11th. Saxen finished in 6th and Petar Brljak had his best ever WC result finishing in 7th. Werdmuller put his bad luck in the World Series race behind him to finish in 8th, with Kostadinov and De Matos rounding out the points paying positions.
