F1 2011 Official Patch 1 Thread

Patch Announcement by Codemasters

Hi all,

We're going to be using this sticky thread to keep you updated with regards the latest game patching status. We'll keep it updated whenever we get new information.

Patch 1 - During the game submission process for F1 2011 the team continued to work on the game, refining, polishing and tweaking and those updates were included in the patch released as follows:

PS3 Status - Released

Xbox 360 Status - Patch has now passed submission, we are now waiting for a confirmed release date.

PC Status - Patch has now passed submission, due for release at approx 10pm GMT on 4th Oct

Patch 2 - The Dev team and QA are currently investigating a number of issues reported by players and trying to reproduce these in a test environment.

Please continue to submit your feedback about any game issues you find in our Tech & Game Support Forums being as thorough as you can possibly be. We're constantly passing on this feedback to the development/QA teams for investigation and review. Your input is much appreciated and of great help, thank you!

PC version is out for Steam users...not sure about DVD buyers, maybe one of them can answer that.

According to this site there will be 2 patches for all consoles including pc

the normal way: downloaded it via gfwl, when applying the patch i opened the task manger to find out what the name of the process/file is and searched for it on my hdd and found it in the microsofts xlive update folder !

Of course! Sorry I've never used GFWL online(only offline profiles) so didn't even know it would be THAT easy.

Makes CM look silly though - they could have posted a simple download link like this themselves and saved customers like you the hassle.

I still find it difficult to believe they will not release an official download. Some people buy the game and still do not use the internet, but only a local profile. This would not be fair. It's also reassuring to be able to keep a copy of the patch for any reinstallations of the game, surely CM realise this? Anyway, if not, thanks to Steffen.

i dont care the hassle

i like to help others who cant get the patch easily or just want it to have it at hand when they need it (reinstall the game etc) like i do!
but i dont get it either why cm does things like they do sometimes!!! it just doesnt look very professional (no changelog or manual patch file)!

I asked Steve Hood about it on Twitter, and his reply was 'Most things use internet to update these days', clearly ignoring the very good points you made.
