Nvidia drivers

Is it critical or a good idea to always download the latest drivers for my GTX 960? A computer tech told me it's not necessary. Not sure what to believe. I always kept them up to date when the message from Nvidia popped up about new drivers available. I really never noticed any difference unless it's just me. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks !!!!!!!!!!

If it's not broken, don't 'fix' it.
I work for a large flight simulator company.
They build, test and install their simulators in 135 countries worldwide.
Once the driver testing phase for maximum compatibility and stability is complete, no other updates are made.
As to Nvidia drivers for OTC PCs... I only change them if I encounter an anomaly or in the case of an OS update as in the recent WFCE.
I also only install the driver itself and the Physx component....nothing else.

The newer drivers generally just include optimisations for new big game releases so they won't make a difference in existing titles. But there's no harm in updating either.

Thanks Terry & Jeremy, I'll check out what the updates are for new games, if their none of mine, I'll skip it. Thanks for the info.
