Nordschleife lap times - GT's

Hi,

I've been getting into this track online, with the GT Pro/Club/Sport class, and am baffled by the lap times some are getting: 6.30's!
Even as the Dodge Viper or Koeneiissgghghfgjhdgfhdgfjdgfhdk I still can't get under 7 mins, despite not making (m)any mistakes and cornering pretty well (or so I thought).

Is there gear ratio magic on the big straight to be had?? Would anyone care to divulge?
I know of the pit "shortcut"

it's much more than a circuit to me
A year ago I went there with my dad and his civic
4 awesome laps, 4 squeelin' tires

Wow! I'm already thinking about the feasibility of going there next time I go to Germany.

I think in-game I got like 10000+ laps

It would have been nice if the game counted the full laps driven on any circuit
with you, Johan, it probably lost count at nords... :-P

Finally, after two months of sweat and tears (luckily no blood) behind my g25
I managed to drive a 6.39.280 on the nords in my r8!!
It could 've been even a 6.38.XXX cause I still made a few small mistakes
thnx for that video of sander, it made selecting the right gear ratio's a lot easier for me
also jim cole's golden advice in another thread about tuning rebounds and bumps helped ALOT!
(finally I understand a little bit more about that mystical section of setting up a car)
my goal at nords is more or less achieved
I think I'm gonna try out that porsche mod
I hope it's worth my time

Just drove a 6:39.372 in the BMW E90 Extreme. That car just feels so right with this track! It's my new favorite.
Same as Tim... I made a few mistakes. I'm going back at it... chasing that perfect lap!!

For setup, I used the SimBin setup that it comes with for this track. All I adjusted was wheel lock to 16, and reduced fuel to 5 gallons.

UPDATE: Just got a 6:37.266 in the Chevrolet Extreme!
