Just a snippet of news. According to Kaz's Twitter, the next GT5 patch is due for release on 18th February. In the same message, it was also suggested that a new restriction system is on the way, similar to GT5P's PP system. Full details of what the patch includes is not yet available.

In further tweets, Kaz appears to have confirmed a couple of the other tweaks which will be in the patch:

    - Fully customisable gear ratios, instead of just max speed.

    - 'Bug of Death', an issue with large savegames not loading, is fixed.

  3. Nice, thanks Ross.

If anyone can somehow decipher this rather poor translation (courtesy of Google), then you might have an idea of another feature included in the patch. It sounds like maybe its something to do with the track maker... or maybe a new track altogether?

  9. I'm really glad to hear about the per-gear customization! That's really missing now... I hope they're implementing custom track building. I have one near my home that I would love to have virtually. Google > Calabogie Motorsports Park...such a fantastic place.
  10. The full changelog :) I'm very very impressed by this.

That's an impressive list, and it's certainly clear why we haven't heard much for the last couple of months. There's some great improvements there that should really enhance the game, not least the features which will make online match-ups a much easier thing to organise. I'd be interested to see what they've done to the AI too... A-Spec will never again be my primary focus, but it'd be nice to have the option again. And custom tracks in online mode?? They may not look as pretty as stock tracks, but that's essentially giving us infinite tracks to race on. So, a thank you goes to PD for a very nice patch.

I guess I'll be the first to have a little moan though, since someone has to do it. No replay controls. No mid-race save in endurances. No wheel/pedal adjustment, even though they've added stick sensitivity for pads. No steering lock adjustment. Just a few of the things that the community has been asking for since November. I know they can't do everything at once, but 'Remote Racing' instead of replay controls? Come on...
  12. Yeah. When those things you've mentioned come on-board, this game will be as good as complete. But, the quality of this update gives me belief that they might actually get around around to all that stuff. Kudos PD! Something I didn't see on the list (I might have missed it) is that now we have the ability to watch replays from "onboard" whoevers car you wish. Very simple, but I like that a lot.

I believe you always could. ;) It used to be done by clicking a camera option which brought up a dialog box of drivers, and you picked who you wanted to watch. That button is now gone and you instead pick who you want to view directly from the on-screen drivers list. Much better.
  14. Thats true, but before, you couldn't watch the replay from the onboard camera of whichever car you were watching. Or at least, not from the online replays (offline, yes). It was always fixed to the replay "tv camera" style. Sadly there's no cockpit view, but the front bumper view is great for analysing other drivers driving styles.

Oh really? Didn't know that. Definitely an improvement then. Even more reason to save the event replays now, although no controls is still going to limit their use for me...
  16. Exactly, and we still need the ability to share them before we can utilize it for the infraction system. Hopefully they are still working on adding that.
  17. Thanks Matt!

Where did you get this information, I could not find it on the GT website.

An undocumented fix: Mid-race driving aid adjustments re-enabled when returning to offline mode after playing on a restricted server.

Car borrowing - Brilliant feature! I've just tested both the F10 and the X2010, and it didn't cost me a penny. I also borrowed someones Toyota 7 race car in order to complete the Historic Cup in the expert series. Saved me a lot of cash or hours of time grinding B-Spec to get the rewarded car.

B-Spec Driver Sharing - Nice! I put my bloke online earlier, and he's been nabbed by people for nine races so far. He's jumped from level 2 to level 12 today (as has my own B-Spec level), and I haven't had to lift a finger or watch any excruciatingly boring AI races. Not only that, but I get any cash he wins too. 50k so far.
