New avatar

Trying to upload a new avatar for RD. The recommended size is at least 200x200, my new avatar is 350x465. I try to upload it, but I'm told by an incompetent error message that the file must be below 19.5KB. I checked the file size and IT'S 17.9KB!!!

Tried that, file size is now 6.82KB and the site still thinks it's above 19.5KB.

Strange, worked for me yesterday. Tried anything else than png?

Saving the 300x465 one as a jpg makes the file size 77KB. What else do you suggest? png is meant to be used for this type of thing anyway. Portable Network Graphic sort of gives it away.
You're the admin Bram, is there any chance you could make this my avatar? If it worked for you when you did yours then there may be something wrong my end. I doubt it though.

Just to be awkward - can you make the cropping so that the entire helmet is visible? It's cut off at the top at the moment. Just so that the top of the square frame matches the top of the image.
It's great to know it's on my end because it's something I can't fix.

Nope, cropping is done by the system i guess. Just open paint, resize the thing to exactly 200x200 and try again with another browser

I have uploaded a 40kB 600x500 image. So it is indeed something on your end. Have you tried a different browser, it didn't really work for me in Opera

EDIT: yeah, cropping is fixed to a square I guess. Just make it a square image, add white padding left and right.

I used Chrome (my normal browser), Firefox and (God forbid) Internet Explorer. All of which gave the same results.
