NASCAR - The Game 2011

The problem I've had with Nascar games is that Superspeedway races that are totally unrealistic, way WAY off on drafting and pack racing. I stopped buying Nascar games after 2009 because they were all so bad.

Game makers now dont ever look at Nascar Heat from 2002, possibly the closest a council game has gotten to simulating restrictor plate racing. The games have all been awful.

The main problem is AI; realistic restrictor-plate racing requires pretty complex AI, and very few racing games have had anything approaching good AI. The Thunder games, the best NASCAR console games so far in my opinion, unfortunately did lack at pack racing. These guys do seem to know what they're doing, so hopefully we will see some improvement...

Game delayed

Bummer, the game release is postponed to March 29.

At least they now have more time to send us a review copy

Demo due perhaps?. It is shame but at least its not that long of a wait.

We can only speculate as no reason is given for the delay other than fixing some last minute stuff. March is not a biggy.

Good bye EA... Welcome Eutechnyx. EA killed stockcar Sim Racing on console and PC because they bullied their way to a exclusive license. Then put out games that someone could have made in their mother's basement. Lets hope Eutechnyx does a better job. So far it looks really good, but only time will tell if the franchise will succeed where EA failed.

I hope so - if a NASCAR game can finally provide some realistic AI, I'd be willing to overlook some other issues.

It's worse than delayed!

I read yesterday that Activision aren't releasing the game in the UK! I presume it's not worth getting hold of a US version as that won't be compatible with a PAL Xbox.

The Xbox 360 Version will be codefree.

Ehh, maybe they don't expect much sales in the UK? First I thought it's going to be an april 1st joke, but I googled it and it lead me to an arcticle written on 22th of February..

That was up to Activision, sadly. However, I heard the sales figures for NASCAR 09 in the UK were less than 1,000...so it would make business sense. You CAN import the game for the PS3 and it is guaranteed to work (so long as your PS3 works).

In all fairness we've known this since around January. I completely agree that it's retarded though. I don't get why Activision couldn't put the game up on PSN and XBL. You don't get the physical copy, but you can get the game...
