You must have damage turned off?

The engine should be blowing the way you drop gears down shifting with the new physics engine?

If you are using a no damage setting then what good are videos showing insane down shifts when most of us use full damage effects?

If you are using a full damage setting then how is the car still running after a full lap of your fast shifting?

Is the damage model that crap/buggy that it may or may not bust the gearbox?

If he blows his engine because of downshifting like that, then codies have seriously f***ed up, F1 cars downshift like that

The new gearbox damage model has caught me out a few times. I never blew boxes in the last games. Now I have to shift down a little less like my life depends on it. It encourages smooth, calm and consistent driving I suppose (boring maybe).

The times I've blown the gear box is when I'm coming into a breaking zone after a long straight and I make that first downshift to quickly while the rpms are still high. When the rpms are high and you start to brake, you have to wait a second before you start to flick it down throught the gears. You can downshift as fast as you could in 2011, you just need to wait for the rpms to drop a little before you do or...BOOM...gravel trap

can't believe I'm actually using a setup with a 6/6 ride height, but it works pretty well with the Toro Rosso as well. Gearbox needs a bit of adjustment, but other than that, it's pretty good

great setup, i didn't think it would go that good with such high ride height. i did a 1:39.436 on prime in practice.
with assists except brake, automatic gearbox.(Xbox 360 controller) now I'm going to try to tweak and see if i can get any quicker.

edit:
so far i only changed the wings to: 5/4. and got a 1:38.536 on prime.
with a little more wing it's the perfect setup for me. let's see how the tires will last in career.

Notes
FP3 - 1:38.217, again this time was set on Prime tyres which had about 3/4 laps on them, fuel was about 6 laps, DRS is again making the car ride on the limiter but only at the end of the two straights, which will make the car better in the race

*Edit*

Just finished a messy 1:37.603 on the Option tyres, there is more time to be found, I didn't get a perfect line through the double apex at 7/8

*Edit 2*

Q1 with 5 laps of fuel on the prime tyres I got a 1:37.766 on my second flying lap
Q2 with 5 laps of fuel on worn (1 previous flying lap) options I've got a 1:37.041
