Invisible cars problem in rFactor

Well i spent a few hours lastnight testing out stuff to try and solve this "Invisible Cars" problem,i think i covered just about every possible setting tweak and still get the problem, sometimes its even worse than invisible cars i get, some of them are just wild mental jumbles of textures and bits and pieces sticking out all over the place, really surreal looking corrupt stuff :/,i have narrowed the problem down to the ammount of cars in a race on certain tracks, the worst case is 17 cars only, any more than that and they will be invisible, the best case will allow 24 cars, this same problem occurs with the PCC mod but thats it,Lupo's-Trucks-Enduro-E90 Liga-etc. etc. are all no probs and you can pack the grid as much as you like.
I am very open to suggestions and possible paths to a solution for this guys,Ryan says its related to ATi 4000 series Vs. some rF mods,i have a 4890 1gb card, anyone else out there on a 4000 series?,im seriously considering a quick upgrade to a 5750 or 5770 that i see at tempting prices.

Cheers guys (Help!!) :(

Does it appear with all car mods ? Seems to be some F1 mod right ?
Did you try it with a completely fresh rFactor Lite install?
I've got now 4 different Lite installs, works very fine ;)
I only backup my userdata and copy into new install.

What is auto detail FPS? And what is supposed to happen if I lower/up the setting?
You set the value to the lowest fps you want to tolerate, then when your playing the game, if the fps starts to go lower than that figure, the game automatically starts to reduce quality so that it can keep up the frame rate you set. Good for full grid starts when your league racing, I'm not 100% sure what it would do but a calculated guess is it would lod things out, drop to lower mip levels.

I have this annoying problem but I have a Radeon HD 5450, it is only an issue with some mods though, previously I had an Nvidia card that didn't have the problem, I have tried updating my driver, re-installing Rfactor and mods, tried stick's solution, but nothing has helped, I'm lost, their must be a solution other then upgrading to windows 7.

Thanks for your reply Ryan, I tried Sticky's suggestion, it didn't.

However If I could pick your brain since you have a lot of experience with the Touring Car Legends Mod, it is the mod I am mainly having the issue with, have you got any suggestions as to what could possibly amended in it's files to reslove this ?

Ok I just thought that maybe a fresh lite install could solve your probs.
Because some file was corrupt or overwritten by some other, happends often.
I think Mianiak is very close, though I think a car is a whole part/object, well I hope.
Means lod in out infect whole car and not partitially, like only the wheels you did see.
You always have funny problems ;)
O ja, what is your FPS when you pass or are close to an other car ?

Yes, I want to upgrade to windows 7 eventually but wasn't planning on doing it just yet. Anybody out their though that has this issue, we should get a list of the mods that these cards have an issue with to see if we can identify common denominator we these mods so we can find a solution to resolve the issue.

For me so far I have Touring Car Legends that has the issue.

I have Historix GT and historic Touring Cars that is unaffected by this issue

All cars that come standard with Rfactor are unaffected by the issue

Erwin it sounds like a compatibility issue when you get a combination of Windows XP and a Radeon graphics card, some mods will work fine others won't, it must come down to the structure in which the mod is set up and or some data within the files somewhere, have you tried any other mods, let me know which ones work and which ones do, I will test some of them on my machine I want to resolve the problem as I have similar issues with some mods
