If you have purchased the "Gift" of STCC for a friend as far as Im aware your friend should recive and email containing a CD key. The "gift" will not show up on your system because you bought it for someone else.

Think of it like this:

"You bought your freind a birthday present and sent it in the post. He recives the present but you never see it again till you see him playing in the streets with it."
