HZ-Motorsports Facility.
Small history:
Originaly this fictional track had 1 layout: The GP-Full circuit layout. After some testing by friends, i was asked to release it as a triple layout track pack.
The National and Club circuit were added. Then after a while i decided to do something with the Intermediate circuit shortcut which was not used at that moment. I added an extra single track to build the Intermediate circuit, the short GP layout and a month later also the Rally full course layout.

The 6 layouts are:

HZ-GP circuit Full Course ( 3.973 km/ 2.46 mile)
Used for: All major events.
Start and finish at National Pitbuilding.
Grid: 60 cars

Yep, and then you have all the tracks in one pack. I could upload them one at the time, but then i have to alter all the scr files. But also i know that the file could have been smaller if i had less difficulties to merge all the track parts.

darn... that is slow, yes..

With the Hunzering i want to try to get 2 versions online officially, with and without chicanes. Now i only have to know how i can recognize the different parts (tyres and blocks) in this track. i have renamed them allready in BTB, but i can't find them back in the file lists.

You could lighten the download Erwin, if you have the main object and map mas files. Then smaller mas files, for just the track differences, like cones, lighting, etc.
I haven't looked at the files, in your track, to see how much difference this will make. Right now, you can delete the sky.mas files from the layout folders. Just keep the one, in the track root folder. So one, instead of seven.

Track looks ace by the way, I've wrapped a Caddy, round most fences.. lol.

I see what your saying Eck.

You`d need to have all the basic track 'gubbins' in the main folder and in each layout folder, all that contains is the layout specific objects?

I reckon this should massively reduce the overall size of the track.

Erwin....here's your next project! lol

Indeed Kris. I know, its not without work...

@ nissan man. As I'd said already, I've not looked at Erwins files (nor do I plan to, not digging in someone elses work). You're right, this is an option. If the different layouts, have similar parts, named differently. As soon as the different layouts, have parts named the same, but placed differently (sectors, for instance).
Its gonna need something else like, floating files or the afore mentioned mas files. If its all named differently already, then thats definitely the easiest way.

Whatever gives least work though, thats the way to go.

The main thing is here, every track layout was treated as if it is a circuit on its own. So there are small alterations in each circuit conceirning layouts. In particular where the track parts merge. Normaly i would have uploaded each track apart. I think that is the best way to do.

But you must use the same textures in each track right? The best thing to do is all textures in one MAS file, so you don't have duplicates, creating unnecessary file size. of course GMTs will all be different.

Just like nissan man says.

I have no problems with fps, but that is maybe because i have a HD5750. That makes it more difficult to test on fps. There will be an overall update for all tracks though. I want to add a bit of haze/fog. That helps to change the LOD easier. When you can't see through the haze that far, the LOD distances can be shortened.
