How's Race 07 Online community and multiplayer nowadays?

Discussion in 'RACE 07 - Official WTCC Game' started by Stefan Mizzi, Aug 28, 2012.

  1. How's the Race 07 online community and multiplayer activity nowadays?

I never had this game but even though its old now, I guess it still offers some fun....

If there is still some good online activity, I will get it and jump online :)

  2. Still alive and kicking.

    RD racing events here: http://www.racedepartment.com/forum/forums/race-07-racing-club.44/
Some events are always popular (Mini Fridays), some come and go.

Don't know too much about public servers, been on them just a few times when I first got the game, but the better known ones should be doing just fine.
  3. Good to know, thanks mate!

I think the publics have gotten worse now that the sim is easily available. While they are well populated the pushing, shoving, intentional foul play and cursing in chat has gotten worse. Even the servers run by "respected clubs" are full of these drivers that will ruin your day.
  5. Wow, OK, that's a shame really...

Yup, and good reason to go club racing at RD :)

The best place to start is at RaceDepartment, you will not find a finer crowed of guys than here, and Team Speak is awsome to.:)

  8. ooOOkk...so it's still worth buying then....
  9. It's the price of a cup of coffee :D
  10. Hehe, quite expensive a cup of coffee there for 4.99 euro : )-

Just checked raceroom, you're right mate, didn't know it was that price :)
  11. Hmm, just noticed that from Steam it's 2.99...oh well too bad now.

No worry, you still have all the addon's to get :D
  13. I hate the steam install. It's all hidden. And now how can I install/add the mods I download from here????
  14. What's hidden?

Mods go in your Steam folder, where the game is installed.

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\your username\race 07

  15. Yeah, I checked there, but there is no Gamdata folder...so I have no idea where the default teams are.

Maybe I should just create a new folder for Gamedata there and copy the files....

  16. OK, that worked, cheers m8 :)

Sooner or later you're going to ask where custom skins and car setups go!
    Your Documents/Simbin....

It depends on the time of day with public servers. I race at 15:00PST and there is a good regular group I get together with. I also race at 11:00GMT and there is a good regular group at that time as well.

I unfortunately cannot regularily race here because of the times at which races are held.
  19. 100Mbit have a glut of admins. There were three. Now there are seven. Some have been on holliday. I have admin rights on 100Mbit. The ban list if very strict. Several RD ATCC and Presto GP leaguers are banned but this is due to lack of respect not wrecking.

Bit of a problem with RD Race07 Mini Friday vs RD Stock Car Mini Friday. Maybe it's time to move Race07 Mini's to a different day so they are not competing like for like with RD Stock Car.
