How to Maximize the Experience of Touring Mods Such as High Force and LA Canyons?

I occasionally enjoy mods that allow me to just take a leisurely drive thru scenic countryside. "High Force" and the upcoming "LA Canyons" come to mind.

They both support traffic. But what's the best settings to maximize realism for that traffic?

And, although I assume that "Race" is the mode to run these mods in for this, I find that a large number of AI drivers retire before I ever get to even see them. So, what settings can I adjust to prevent/,minimize this behavior?

BTW - I'm using Content Manager.
