HoF and Discussion (Propose Game Ideas Here)

I know that there are quite a few Excel/Manager games already but I think this is a fresh approach to it.

It's a rally game, but instead of managing a team, you are in charge on a manufacturer.

Available Manufacturers

- Ford
- Citroen
- Hyundai
- Toyota
- Volkswagen
- Mini
- Skoda
- Mitsubishi
- Subaru
- Peugeot
- Renault
- Opel
- Suzuki
- Honda
- Seat
- Proton

All of these manufacturers will have different budgets. So Ford for example, who have a much larger rally program, will have a bigger budget compared to the likes of Honda, Seat and Proton for example. So if you want a challenge, then maybe picking a manufacturer with a smaller rally budget would be ideal. Maybe you want to try and take Subaru or Mitsubishi back to their glory days.

When joining, you will be asked to pick five manufacturers in order of preference. I will then go through all of the first picks for each person. If let's say five people want Ford as their first choice, then I will randomly pick one of the people who had Ford as their first choice.

Everyone can stand a chance at winning a championship though, as I'll explain above.

The Championships and Classes

In this game, you don't have to play one championship a season. Instead, there is a wide range of championships that you can choose to enter. They are as followed;

- World Rally Championship (WRC)
- WRC-2
- WRC-3
- European Rally Championship (ERC)
- ERC-2
- ERC-3
- British Rally Championship
- BRC-2
- BRC-3
- BRC-4
- Asian Pacific Rally Championship (APRC)

The current classes are as followed
WRC
WRC-P (Privateer Entries using cars from 2011-2016)
R5
R4
S2000
R3
R2

The privateer class is only available to Ford, Citroen, Mini, Hyundai and Volkswagen, and they will have a certain number of cars to privateers wishing to compete in the Privateer class.

All of these championships use different classes, which are as followed.

WRC- (WRC and WRC-P)
WRC-2- (R5, R4 and S2000)
WRC-3- (R3 and R2)
ERC- (R5 and S2000)
ERC-2- (R4)
ERC-3- (R3 and R2)
BRC- (R5 and S2000)
BRC-2- (R4)
BRC-3- (R3)
BRC-4- (R2)
APRC- (R5,R4,S2000,R3 and R2)

Work Entries

Your first job is to select what championships and what classes you would like to field a works team in. You may want to try and field a works team in as many championships as possible, or as few as possible. You also need to select how many work entries you want to supply in each championship. You can have between 1-3 work entries in each championship.

You then need to decide what class in that championship you want to enter. So, if you want to field two works entries into the WRC-2 championship, then you have a choice in fielding an R5, R4 or S2000 car as your works entries.

The cost of building a single car are as listed below

WRC- £800,000
R5- £400,000
S2000- £350,000
R4- £300,000
R3- £200,000
R2- £100,000

So if you want to build three works R5 cars, then you will spend a total of £1200000.

You can not build a works R5, R4 and S2000 car for the same championship and the same for R3 and R2 cars. You can build a R5 car for one championship, an R4 car for a different championship and an S2000 car for a different championship.

The cost of building these cars will change as regulations change, so some years fielding a WRC car maybe more expensive, but other years may be cheaper.

Preseason Upgrades

Each class has base stats for Engine Performance, Aero Performance and Reliability. The next job is to then develop the car using tests. During preseason, you have a maximum 1,000 KM of testing to use for all classes that you are competing in. Each KM of testing will cost you £1000, so the maximum you can spend on testing is £1,000,000. You will need to decide how much Engine, Aero and Reliability testing you will do and on which cars. This may seem a bit complicated so here's an example to try an explain it better.

You are Ford, and you have built a works car for the WRC class, the R5 class and the R3 class. You have a total of 1000km testing, so you could allocate it like so;

WRC Car, 200km of engine testing, 100km of aero testing and 100km of reliability testing
R5 Car, 100km of aero testing, 300km of reliability testing
R3 Car, 200km of engine testing.

Driver Signing

Next job is to fill all of your works drives by signing drivers. Now there is a database of 200 drivers for you to choose from. Many of these drivers will be unknown to you, so there is chance for you to do some scouting. You can scout 15 drivers for free preseason, which will reveal their stats and a bit of other information, including potential and in some cases their minimum requirements.

Any further scouting you wish to do will cost £50,000 per driver

Next comes the original bids. Now there are a few stipulations you will need to consider

If you are planning on entering the APRC, BRC (all classes) or WRC, all you need to do to place a bid like this

Driver Name-
Car Class-

If you are planning on entering WRC-2, WRC-3, ERC, ERC-2, or ERC-3, then you have a few decisions to make. Firstly, you are only allowed to enter seven rallies a season (maximum), so you need to decide on what rallies you are entering them in and how many rallies they are offered in their contract. You can offer the same driver a drive in multiple championships as long as they remain in the same car class in all championships and dates don't clash. You can only enter a driver into two separate championships however.

So for example, you could offer Elfyn Evans a drive in WRC2 and ERC in an R5 car and then decide on what rallies he competes in.

If multiple manufacturers offer the same driver a drive, then a few things will happen

1- The driver will look at what car class they have been offered a drive in. They will instantly reject if it doesn't fulfill their minimum requirement. They will also reject offers if they receive an offer in a better car class (So if they recieve a WRC offer and a R5 offer, they will reject the R5 offer)

2- If they have multiple offers in the same class, then a bidding war will begin.

Then round 2 begins and the same process happens again. This will happen until all work seats have been filled

Independent Teams

Next up is your first chance to make some money (but that's not a guarantee) I will supply a list of independent teams in each championship. You may approach as many teams as you wish. You will give an initial starting price to the team. A few things may happen

- A different manufacturer may offer a lower price
- The team accepts the offer
- The team rejects the offer, and will begin to negotiate.

Teams are AI controlled, and will sign out of contract drivers randomly.

Privateers

Each rally, there will be a group of privateers who would like to enter the rally. This time, they will make an offer and you get the choice to accept or reject the offer

Manufacturers get a cut of the prize fund from the privateers and teams.

Upgrades

Between each rally, you get five 500km of testing to try and upgrade your cars. Same process as the preseason testing applies

Any questions, please ask. Any suggestions or comments are welcome as well

Ship game 0/10 ;)

One thing I did notice was that you had a lot of championships.. means you'll have to effectively run 5 races instead of one, and from experience, it gets a bit difficult both for the moderator and even for the player to keep track of that many drivers!

Also how is reliability going to work on rally cars?

I agree that there are too many classes. Only WRC is enough, maybe along with WRC 2 if there are enough sign-ups. That is my only concern so far.

I could do it like that. However, the idea of having different classes and championships was to try and make this as fresh and different as possible.

Also having one class would be highly frustrating for some people, so having more than one class tries to keep everyone in competitive shape
