So.... aside from some post-race pram emptying, Vitus worked extremely well as a WST venue, and the Thursday 'choose any 2 from a group' gave us some varied and interesting racing, so it's something that we will do again in these events... It did, however, throw up a couple of items for consideration that we've addressed in this event, as you will see further down this intro.

We go from Fantasy Swiss-land to real-world Cheshire, UK and Oulton Park...specifically the Fosters Chicaned Circuit. This layout will be at least partially familiar to all of us, except that, after the familiar right hander and downhill esses, it sends us straight on at the end of the Cascades (instead of left towards Island & Shell), into a tight right hander, that brings us onto what is normally the end of the back straight, and into the chicane at Hizzy's, before turning back up the hill at Knickerbrook and onto more recognisable territory.

As we're all relatively familiar with this venue, it seems like a logical place to try out the things that we mentioned above, so we have 3 single make events this week, with 3 new/tweaked vehicles. Tuesday will be the new Austin Healey Sprite Climax, Thursday will be the new (and previously mentioned) Grantura '60, and Sunday will be the newly lightened Porsche 912. All of the cars have multiple "default" skins, so there will be more than enough variety about without drivers taking another driver's personal skin for the races.

Due to the nature of the shorter courses in the WST, we will stay with the limited lap quali to make sure people get a decent crack at a clean and relatively car-free quali lap.

All i can say is Wow, what a super little car the TVR Grantura '60 is and on this track it sings its heads off and is really good fun, within 6 laps i was lapping consistently just a case of a bit of fine tuning,
having the same track all week really helps in this.:thumbsup::thumbsup:
the default set up is good all i have done is lower the fuel level and drop the final drive. check your mirrors also
one thing to watch out for is the red line, 7600rpm cross it at your peril. I did blow a couple of engines with a missed gear hear and there. But hey i like that it ads a bit of realism and makes it authentic. TVR's do go bang very easily.

So please be careful setting off and at the start of the race, watch your revs if the wheels start to spin.
Another area is coming over the right hander and into the dip to the last corner, its a tricky 2nd gear and your almost of max revs again change early to avoid it going bang or stay in 3rd the choice is yours..:)

Im sure there might be a little change in the suspension that can add to the car already great base set up. Just ask on tspeak im sure somebody will share theirs if needed.

So All please remember the track limits, (the white lines are the boundary not the curbs) You all did good last time out, So please lets keep this up :thumbsup::thumbsup:

And have a great race guys.. see you on track.

Yeah, this was picked up at the last event when we used the faster 65's (cars use different engines and masses, the 60 is about 70kg heavier with a weaker engine to tweak the power/weight)...there was a bit of a discussion then, and the consensus was also to leave as is, because the car handles well by default so you can really push hard in it, therefore it needed a bit of an Achilles Heel, hence my choice of engine lifetime (damage) and rev limit (power) parameters. ;)

You have to get very close to the unsafe zone to maximise the car's performance, so it's a real balancing act...more so than it's proposed rivals.

Yup - I think I'm right in remembering that, outside of misshifts (which will blow most engines to be fair), too-early downshifts are the most likely cause of a catastrophic failure, so have a look at your braking process into the slower parts of the track
