Welcome to World Sprint Tour Week 5. The aim, as always, is to produce action packed, 25 minute races, where everybody is involved in a dust up with a close rival, irrespective of overall pace.

Soooo then.....Bonyring appeared to kick up a bit of a brouhaha, some say contretemps, some say imbroglio. I am guessing that the slow and easily controllable nature of the cars, along with the open, flat, wide and paved nature of Bonyring's corners meant that liberties got taken initially and objected to subsequently. Lessons duly learned. We move from "Brazil" to "Italy" and afdelta's AF-RF1. RFactor came out end of August 2005, and AF-RF1 appeared at the end of March 2006. The fact that it's still more than viable for our purposes is testament to it's enduring design. We start in the Gordini 1300 on Tuesday, move on to the Porsche 912 on Thursday (for those of you who haven't noticed it yet, this car was a secret Christmas present from Stuart in the last A0 skinpack update, v1.04) and we finish off in the TVR Grantura on Sunday.

The Gordini is a nice familiar start for us, controlling the swaying and sliding. The 912 is actualy lower powered than the Gordini, but has 20% more torque. It shares some familial traits to the 911, but is slightly better balanced due to the smaller lighter engine. The Grantura shone on the wide open spaces of Silverstone, so let's see how it handles a more cramped and tight arena. AF-RF1 has a multitude of features that give it a different character from Bonyring - banking, sawtoothed kerbs, pedestrian style kerbs, slippery grass and gravel on the inside and outside of narrow kerbs... Quite a different proposition, all told.

Gents - can I ask a favour please? Could someone (or maybe a few of you) submit some results or timings to me for this event as I missed it.

The reason I ask is that I'm trying to keep a log of how the sprint cars pace compares to each other, and so I can better judge what can race what, and also any "new" cars I'm trying to cobble together can be matched into the various sub-groups. I would like to know how the 912 times compare to the Gordini 1300 in this case.

Thanks in advance for anyone who can assist.
