As WST hits double figures, we hop across the Channel back to a UK-based Fantasy circuit - Seven Hills. There really shouldn't be any right for a track based on the Lotus/Caterham "7" logo to be that interesting to drive but the author Lasercutter has done a brilliant job with some subtle (and some not so subtle) gradient changes to make this a great Club racing track. As it's a Fantasy track they don't really have any corner names I'm aware of, so it's numbers only in the track notes.

From the S/F line, where you will normally be at or close to maximum speed, you encounter the opening Esses - T1aR & T1bL. These are quite tricky corners first up both in and of themselves (T1aL is humped on the inside to throw you right if you get too aggressive, and T1bR has a kerb and grass run off on the outside if you take it too wide or get thrown there) but also because they precede T2R, a slow 90° corner that is important as it dictates the speed for a large portion of the lap. Getting through T2R means it's full acceleration on the slightly curved straight ahead of you, which disappears left behind the close fences, under a foot bridge, and then it's hard, hard on the anchors for T3R - the signature corner of this track. T3R is a middle speed corner, gentler than a 90°, but it drops away steeply on entry, and the camber throws you to the left where there is a waiting gravel trap which handily will not stop you from going straight into the waiting wall. As if that isn't tricky enough, just when you get things under control, you reach the bottom of the dip, all your springs compress and you are going uphill... and then suddenly standing on the brakes for T4R.

This is another off-cambered corner, the outside having a wide-ish kerb and then very grabby gravel trap waiting for drivers who haven't given it enough respect. Successfully negotiating T4R, it's foot down hard on the straight until you get hard on the brakes for the slowest corner on the track T5L.

T5L is almost pointed its so tight and is a 180° hairpin. The track outside it is very wide, allowing some uncharacteristic generosity for multiple lines and/or drivers missing the tighter apex. Again accelerate hard on the downhill straight after T5L, possibly a gentle lift as the track jinks right at the bottom of the dip, you start back uphill, and set yourself up for the second set of esses on the track, T6aL & T6aR. These are high speed, and simply taken....but again they are tricky because of what they precede. Exiting those esses off line will leave the following corner T7R a lot more or a daunting prospect than it already is.

T7R drops away suddenly at braking time, get this wrong and your car will go very light (possibly airborne in the very light cars we will be using), and having little to no weight on the tyres is not really conducive to grip and turning. If you can negotiate that, as you get some steering grip back you continue turning right, across a heavily, and positively, cambered section into T8R. Like so many others, get this right because it opens on to the Home Straight and any time lost in the corner is magnified at the end of this straight.

Fire along past the pit entrance on the left, over the S/F line and on to another lap of Seven Hills.

We will be using the fastest group of matched cars we have available to us for this week, but the twist is that you must only use one car in both races per night. And, as there are 4 cars and 3 nights, you will have to decide what car does not get a runout across the week. The cars are the Alpine 1100, the Lotus Elite, the Porsche 912 & the TVR Grantura '60. All of them have pluses and minuses, so which fits you best?"

    From Stuart
"Le Mas Du Clos is a great racing track, but unfortunately, the only version I was aware of had some issues that only manifested with an online server and client load, so apologies for that, and thanks to @Jonatan Åcerclinth for sourcing an updated version and allowing some good racing later in the week.
