My first GTL online experience :) Not bad at all.

To my surprise I stole pole for the 1st race. At the start I was waiting for ... something ... but this never happened.
During the race I learned there had to be a 3.2.1. countdown, but not here ;)
Still could fight back till i reach 2nd place. Nigel was doing very consistent laps and could not be touched. If if if :) Happy birthday mate.

On the second track, Donington i was looking forwards to. I love this track and I had a good race in a league when my game (GTR2) froze during a pitstop.
In qualify the game suddenly froze and I could nothing but press reset.
Was maybe a few seconds too late in rejoining, race session was already started.
Grrrrrrrr

See you next time. Thanks for the bit of racing I experienced.
Mixed feelings (because of the freeze).

lots of fun tonight. great battles with stuart warren and gary( nice to see you back m8) in all three races. as always made stupid mistakes but it all came out good in the end.
thx stuart for another gr8 car and track combo.
btw i found out that the stuff i got from amstredam last week realy makes me drive better:wink2:

I enjoyed my little visit back to GTL after some months not driving it,the Escorts were the perfect cars for the job and i liked all tracks and interesting to see im still as rubbish as i was when i gave up GTL :D.

Thank You Thommo and RD :good:

Good fun as usual with the GTL crowd. Nice to see Bram and Ramon join us, and Gary back again too.
Best news for me was that I didn't get the dreaded PC freeze this time, but sadly, Ramon scored one for race 2.

These Escorts have a few little quirks that take some getting to grips with (or is that lack of grip), but they are lots of fun to drive. These tracks suited them nicely too, good choices Stu.

Very enjoyable and close racing in all three races for me, plenty of people regularly swapping places, and I think most of us moved up and down the field at regular intervals as each mistake proved costly. Most of us got a chance to run up near the front at some stage, only to blow it all away in a cloud of smoke. Good to see the podium filled with different drivers each race.

Race 1: Nigel stunned us all with his jack-rabbit start, and was never headed to take the win. Grats Nige. I had close racing all the way with Amir, Ramon, Gary early, then settled into a close tussle with Ramon, but as we both diced for P2, Matt sneaked up to join us and jumped me in the final lap. Finished P4.
WD to Ramon and Matt for the podium.

Race2: Some really close racing with Amir, swapping spots a few times, then Gary dropped back to join us, before it was my turn to spin the Escort around. Then Bram and Amir took their turns to spin, finally giving me P3. Grats to Ben for the win. WD Gary for P2.

Race 3: Seemed like a mistake-athon from most of us, with the field almost reversing itself at one stage. I followed Knut as we weaved past most of the field to move from the tail into P2 and P3 in the space of about three turns. I finally managed some Escort lawn mowing to finish P6.
Grats again to Ben, who finished his race then went to the club bar to wait for the rest of us. Amir pipped Stuart in the final turns to fill the podium spots.

Thanks to all who raced, I still love my GTL outings with you guys. Always lots of fun. :laugh2:

Nice event:)

1st race: In lap 2 I think I had a nice battle with Bram, but then I braked a little late on the outer side I think and that put me in the bridge:) Went for repair, but accidently put in fuel also so it didn't make my situation a lot easier! Went round and finished the race about 2 laps behind.
2nd race: Nice one, I was just a bit slow there. Finished 9th I think, the last few laps were a little scary as Nigel was closing behind lightning fast:)
3rd race: In the first lap Richard spun and I couldn't avoid him:( But no problem. Later I felt a bit sick, first only pulled out from the track for a few seconds, I damaged my car with that however so I went into the pits, but again I felt very bad and retired.

Abarths: I went down to the Kitchen to get something and I felt better afterwards. Only my left arm started to hurt again! No problem I started the race, quali: pole. Nice because on the abarth event before at Müllenbach I was in pole too:) But in first lap I got a hit from behind:( Finished 5th or 6th at the end I think.

Great event, thanks Stu-Art for bringing another one of those golden oldies :thumb:

Really enjoyed last night guys, although i am still not fully happy the way my G25 works in this game.

The track choice was excellent and it was nice, actually really nice to have 13 players on the grid rubbin' it on every corner of the track.

Snetterton
New track and 10 minutes to learn it. Goal: finish the race without hitting that naughty bridge. Result: finished a great cat and mouse play with mr Lennon including a 100% inpact on that naughty bridge, lol. Some awesome aerial skills showed by Peter B and Stuart T, you guys should enter the RedBullAirRaces :)

Donington
Had more trouble to control the car here. The track was familiair and i did fairly ok untill the 7th lap when i kept on spinning in the very slow corners.

Silverstone
Hate the modern layout and i usually avoid racing on it since GP2/3 :) But this classic version was ace. Long straights and very fast corners, exactly my type of track.
Didnt participated in the race because the cameracrew of RDTV forced me to broadcast :)

Abarth's after fun @ Mullenbach
Do i have to say more? This is GTL for me :) Love those backpack cars!

This night proved again how ueber cool this sim can be when more people show up, and i really hope we will hit the 36 spots once in the very near future. I think it will be the ultimate race :)

Thanks guys for a great night (sorry Warren: morning :)) of racing and next time ill join you again on TS (after all the discussions yesterday i wasnt really in the mood for more talking, sorry)

Surprising stuff. Didn't realise they were quite that tricky to drive until you get used to them...

Didn't have any practice before the event - I don't know what happened but somehow I'm sure the time jumped from 7:45 to 8:05 pm when I suddenly realised I was missing practice. Joined the server and by the time I'd made two failed attempts to get round T2 there was about 40 seconds of practice left.

Luckily we've done snetto before and I had Ramon's setup [although I never compared it to the default :p]. Held it together, qualifying 6th, had a good race only running very slightly wide a couple of times. Closed on Warren and Ramon battling and just managed to sneak it past Warren at the end for 3rd place

Somehow I've avoided Donnington in the past so I didn't know the track at-all. Got a pretty decent qualifying time, but managed to mess up the first lap running wide a bunch of times, going pretty much all the way to the back. Made some progress but came to a full stop at the hairpin twice. Caught up to Bram but sadly you disappeared :th_woot:. Stuart took an excursion and I got past, can't remember what position though.

Silverstone is another track I've generally happened to avoid, but did ok again. Amusing race due to the 3 way surrender. Haven't checked what happened but had no idea what was going on either side of / behind me :rotfl:. Will probably watch the replay of this one later...

Thanks for the event, was good to see extra people

edit: Abarths: lol. Good race until I forgot to brake for the hill leading to the pit lane :heh:
