Holy. So did you play with the wheel yesterday or with the pad Ross ?

Was my first GTL online race. Had some major problems to get the game running online so I didn't have much time to practice.
Was also the first time for me in the escort and the skyline.

race1:
The escort is really an enjoable car. Was 2nd in quali but missed the start then. Sorry guys I was checking my setup and then I was too late.
So we started again in random position. I had a great race but to many mistakes from me. But I made the fastest lap in race one. Made me so proud

race2:
So good lenno was in the skyline so bad I was in this car. When i did 31 times in the escort I was happy to get a 33 in the skyline.
I spun all the time in quali and race. Ross and I had a spin festival. So I was not all alone

Was really enjoyable night and I'm looking forward to the next race.

Thanks all and RD

Also, i think it's time i bought a wheel, xbox360 pads just don't do this game justice!

I think the DFGT is best bang for buck at the moment Ross, from what I've read and seen - cheaper than the g27 & fanatec wheels, better rotation & ffb than the logi Momo ones, and decent pedals as well. Plus all the multitude of G25/G27 settings out there will work for it straight out of the box.

YMMV of course.

I can't find a new or reasonably-priced used G25 anywhere at the moment, and the DFGT is around £70, so that was going to be my preference as it seems to have just about all the features of a G25 except a clutch pedal and the overall finish. There's no way i can justify paying £200+ for a G27 or fanatec so that may be the best option.

Also, to the guys who use pads: how do you adjust the anaoig sectors on GTL? (or can you?!) I know GTR Evo lets you adjust these, but i can;t find a way to do this with GTL, despite having Xpadder.

Ross, here is a screenie of my settings for my pad. The analog rates are adjusted under the "Sensitivity" section.
Try my setup and see if you like it. I play with a logitech pad that looks exactly like a Playstation 2 controller. The reason I put the sensitivity all the down is because it makes it easier to make really small adjustments while driving. I also keep the speed sensitive steering all the way down so that I will always have the same rate of steering regardless of the speed I am traveling at. The more speed sensitive steering you add, the less analog rate you will have as the car speeds up. I have personally found that continuously changing rates slow me down a bit.

Also, I keep the steering lock (look below) between 13 and 18 depending on the car, this also affects steering rate, more lock=higher rate.

Now on to my race report...

First I'd like to say that I LOVE the BMW 2800CS. It's not the fastest car in the group, but it's a joy do drive. This car is nothing like the understeering barge I drove in the league (Alpina). This car actually turns! lol!

Race1) Was doing pretty good until I tapped a red corvette. I was too close to see the name tag when I hit it so I was not sure who I had hit. I look down at my keyboard to type "sry" and when I look up again I see that there is a red Vette ahead, but I figure that it's too far ahead to be the Vette I tapped. At that moment I look behind and see another red Vette so I figure that it's that one that I tapped and decide to wait for it to pass. I'm an idiot haha! I had originally hit Ross (Sorry Ross) and the one that I was letting by was Gary! Oh boy, I really have to set up my quickchat buttons lol.
The rest of the race I spent it hopelessly trying to catch Gary, but it was impossible. At least I managed to stay in 3rd most of the race until Bob ran out of gas (sucks to hear that Bob, u more than deserved that win, in my book, you won).

Race2) I don't know what to say. I am so ashamed. I am sooo sorry Lenno. If we were local I would drive to your house and let u punch me. I greatly overestimated the Vette's braking ability and ended up doing what totally looked like a planned attack on an unsuspecting driver.
Before that horrible incident I was actually not doing so bad. My nerves were shaking out of my body the entire time Lenno was chasing me down. I was thinking to myself, "holy crap Carlos, you think you might actually be able to keep Gary back there the entire 16 laps?!", I knew that the major reason he was behind me instead of in front of me was the Skyline's lack of power compared to the Vette and the nice straight Dijon has. It was only a matter of time before my nerves got the best of me and I went offroading.

After smashing into Gary, I sat and watched as he recovered his places one by one until he made it back to P1. You guys gotta see the replay and him go into T1. I don't think he uses the brakes!!
Great driving man:thumbup:
And I promise to be more careful next time (if I ever get the chance to battle with you again, that is).

Thanx Stu for cooking this up, these cars ROCK!!
