This is being held in our Club, using Club Rules, and should be driven in that spirit.

Good classic car racing as usual. Nice choice of Track and Cars, Limerock Mountain is always great (it has a bit of everything), and the cars were well balanced. I'd never driven the Opel GT before, but I loved it, really nice to drive and surprisingly quick.

Race 1 was promising to be a cracker of a battle for the win until Carlos fluffed his start , Rupe had an early excursion, leaving Bob and I in a lovely scrap for many laps. Unfortunately I missed a gear change and drifted off track, giving Bob a handy 2 - 3 sec gap, which was all he needed for the win.
Grats Bob and WD to Rupe for 3rd.

Race 2 was a bit of a mess. My re-joining bug bit me twice this time, so by the time I joined I missed practice. I loaded Bob's setup (thanks mate) and decided to start at the back. Lap 1, I had to take emergency evasive action to avoid running into Bob (who was avoiding Han's spectacular crash :p ) . That put me into the sandpit to play around for about 45 secs. I thought I was in for a very lonely affair at the tail, but Rupe kindly waited after a few laps and joined me for our own little Escort race. We had a ball, pushing each other hard enough to record some quick'ish times, very enjoyable. Thanks for waiting Rupe, showing the true spirit of the GTL Club. :notworthy:
Grats to Carlos for the win, and WD to Bob and Phil Ondrej for the podium.

Thanks to Rupe for organising, very nicely planned.
Good to see Dave join our GTL group too. Welcome. :)

BTW, during our TS chats before the race, we discussed Jack's microphone. Turns out "Jack's jack has had the jack" :D .

Great event Rupe. I too really like the Opel a lot, even in default mode.

Race 1. Had a good start and was later battling Carlos and I unfortunately squeezed him as we screamed around the tight left-hander. I slowed and waited to let him pass but he just gave me position and we continued. He soon passed me as I had an off on the last down hill but later passed him as he had an off. Good memory---no good replay to view. Now I see Roland up ahead and I was closing somewhat when he had a bad off on that last hill. We battled a little and I decided to wait for him to race some more but he lost it again and left me alone with no one to dance with. I waited at the last hill and then carried on to the finished.

Race 2. Had to reboot computer and was a little slow getting ready. Started in last place because I lost it in qualie big time. Battled with Arnaldo somewhat and gave him a bump in turn 1 so I slowed to let him pass and I almost lost it. I then had a lot of fun trying to catch Arnaldo for several laps until he had an unforced off. I was alone until the end.

Thanks Rupe for the work put in, grats to Podiums, cheers to all drivers.

I recall this track as one of my first events after joining the GTL club. Its one of those tracks that does not have a lot of places to pass, although its seems to be fairly wide...
R1. Started from 7th in the Escort, glad this was up first for me as it requires more concentration to drive initially ( for me) but once onto it, I was able to get some decent times. I also benifited from the misfortunes of others in the opening laps to find myself in 3rd by lap 3.

Then had a great little battle with Rupe in the Opel. I had just enough speed to hold him off on the front straight and then, though he was faster over the mountain, I kept my line and was able to maintain position till I eventually made a mistake running wide up the paved side hill/up hill run off just before the last two turns around lap 7? Finished 4th behind Rupe, Warren and Bob. Well done guys, and congrates to Bob for the win!

R2. Started from 3rd in the Opel. Got away well behind Rupe and Carlos and kept pace with them, but Ondrej was also pressuring me from behind by lap3. At the top of the mountain he made a bold move to the inside on the long downhill right hander, ran wide, and I was able to retake the position. Then coming down into the next little sharp left hander, I ran wide, and he again tried for the pass, but just drifted wide again and tipped me onto the graval. That let Bob through, but thanks for waiting Ondrej. We battled on a few more laps, Ondrej eventually got by and then I had a big accident again on the sidehill run off on lap 9, but was able to finish 4th. ( thanks for the congradulations Warren, but it should really go to Ondrej!)

, Congradulations to Carlos on your win, you really had a good evening, and congrates to Bob and Ondrej for their podiums. Super event Rupe, thanks for the good communication in Race 1 and hope to see everyone next week...

Both races were intense. In the first one I had a good battle for couple of laps with Arnaldo who was putting me under big pressure from behind until we met in one corner where the Escort was pretty unstable. Me trying to handle the car trough the apex and Arnaldo with purpose of overtaking me (I guess) ended up with me going towards the wall. I got damaged and it took some time to get used to the car again, thanks Arnaldo for that long waiting, I spun because of that damage when braking and you waited again, thank you!

Race two was better when it comes to crashes :) I spun in qualification so I had bad start position. But I was able to get trough the field on the start. Then I had amazing race with Phillip and Arnaldo in front this time. I was pushing Arnaldo who eventually made a mistake in the first lap. Behind me was Hans and later Bob overtook him. I was caching Phillip and we had nice battle, in one lap I overtook him but he gained the position back in the same turn. Later in left turn after long braking from downhill I wanted to get him on brakes, but I ran wide and pushed him off the racing line. It was nothing serious but it was enough to end Phillip up in the gravel. So I gave him the position back and Bob passed us by. It took I guess 2 laps to overtake Phillip. At first it seemed like I will remain on that place without any troubles or stress but Phillip got faster and started to push me a lot. The gap was between 1 and 2 seconds so nothing was decided yet. Until Phillip made a mistake and let me cross the finish line alone.

Thanks for the race fellas, congratulations both podiums and winners. It was amazing night after longer brake :) Really nice one Rupe!
