Note 1: You have a free choice of which car you wan to use for both races
Note 2: Please use only the liveries that come with the mod.
Note 3: We are using the SIMBIN lobby for this event. See here how to switch lobby
Note 4: We run a SuperPole Qually, you get one chance only at a outlap and qually lap. Take it easy on your outlap and get you car in a good position to run you qually lap, leave enough room to allow for the unexpected from the car infront. You don't get another go if you have to take avoiding action.. After you have done your qually lap please exit to the pits, Do Not Complete Your In Lap.
Do not return to the track or drive in the pit lane after this.
Note 5: Racing Room must be given to all drivers – and this works both ways. Divebombing into and across a corner denies people the chance to make the corner correctly just as much as someone obliviously (or deliberately) cutting the nose off of another driver who has achieved partial overlap fairly. And The kerbs are not deemed as track, therefore 2 wheels must be within the white lines, on the tarmac, At All Times..
Note 6: Pit speed limiters are to be used in the pits whilst on the server at all times on RaceDay

Rules:

This is being held in our Club, using Club Rules, and should be driven in that spirit.

Well, a short race for me all because i had to sneeze while in a turn :roflmao:

I felt the sneeze coming just as i was approaching the esses, was trying to hold it in until i got to the straight but couldn't. I sneezed just as i was in the last turn and lost control of my digits .

I tried pitting but my engine was far too damaged to repair. Still had fun for my whole four laps though:D

exactly in the same spot as me, i went with my back on the same spot of that barrier :roflmao:

Jorge Ferreira Why did you switch your light on in the race 2
this is not allowed in RD events. Please don't do it again..
it was only a few days ago i asked people to look at the rules..
and here
i also posted about the flashing of lights or use of light.. please read what is posted or ask if your unsure..;)
  • Follow all safety rules as if you were in a real car on a real track; use the pit speed limiter in pit lane, observe all safety flags and lights, no donuts in the pit lane or on the track, no deliberate distraction of other drivers, etc.
Ok Rupe honestly did not even realize we had walked with the lights on. but I will be mindful of this ...

Sorry my english is done in Google translator :):p

To my disappointment I had to miss both races which I was looking forward to. I had practiced last night and was confident that I had good setups and a good knowledge of both tracks.
But somehow in Kyalami I messed up the setups; I was sure that after qualif I changed to race setup with more fuel, but something went wrong and I was out of fuel by the end of the third lap (would be difficult to go further with only 8 or 9 liters in the tank...:whistling: ).

Nothing to do but to stay and enjoy the TV cameras until the end of the race, so that no one got distracted by the "left server" message. Meanwhile I had to pick up the phone and something came up that made me have to go out and forfeit 2nd race, so sorry guys for not joining you this time.

No probs Rene, i still had fun.
Were i could overtake i did then let you through it was good to drive with you..:)
i had been on the server with a few of the guys in the GTX and put in some good times.
but its always nice to take a different challenge,,
i like the slower cars just as much...
we both did good when being lapped we had our own fun and didnt disrupt others..
its about the driving not always the winning
you did better than me in the second race i crashed and had to pit (punture) You beat me fair and square
in fact we both beat some of the other guys in their super fast cars.. :) (crashing out )
but we did.. KUDOS points there i think:p

if we had a full house of drivers we could of run 2 classes now that is something that would be rally cool

Jorge Ferreira ok thanks..:)
maybe look at your control settings in game you can cancel the key
H is headlights on the keyboard

This way you cant hit it by mistake..
In the replay it is being switched on and off a few times when on the start line, maybe you are hitting it by mistake thinking its another function . :)

Yes Rupe Wilson ..
The lights I have a button on the steering wheel to turn, but I just did not know who was with the lights on ... :)

Ohhh this car suit me SO MUCH, I LOVED it! That said I ofc had some accidents :p

Q1: Made some mistake during my hotlap, set a time some few seconds slower than my best in practice and got 8th on grid for the race.

R1: Half arsed start, passed the guy in front who spun off on the start and passed a couple more making mistakes during the first lap, found myself sitting 4th and with speed to challenge 3rd, that opportunity would never come however as I put my car upside down on lap 4 and had to DNF the race :(

Q2: Qualied in for a 5th slot start iirc.

R2: Got off to a good start and the pack of us 5 first cars pulled a gap pretty fast, made a few slight mistakes on the first lap so I lost a little bit of contact with the top 4, but that mattered little because on lap 2 (or 3 maybe, not sure) I went waaaaay off track. Didn't damage my car but being careful when reentering the track I found myself at the very back of everyone. But with a few slower cars between me and the leading GTXes I where sure to make up a few places as long as I kept it clean. Passed a couple of cars and a few laps further on I think my hearth skipped a beat as I dodged Hiroshis flying car :p
Got another free spot from Ian making a mistake in the next corner. Caught up with Eck (iirc) and made a stupid move on him on the esses after the long back straight, instead of making it stick I went 90 degrees and put my front in the barrier letting both Eck and Ian pass me again.
Caught up with them again after a couple of laps and passed them again, but making it stick this time.
At this point I was back on 4th position with a pretty big gap up to 3rd, 27ish seconds iirc. Not much happening the last few laps of the race but I managed to reduce the gap to 3rd (Tony Wiltshire I believe?) to 9 seconds on the last lap, so just a few more would have been great! xD

All in all a splendid evening for me! R2 was my best ever finishing position in GTL and my best ever race in any sim so far! I had a blast, loved the car, the track and the company!
Hope I didn't impeed or distract anyone during my race, if I learnt one thing yesterday then that would be that I'm not very experienced in driving around and passing others that are just a tad slower than me. So I should work on that, maybe running AI, but hopefully future events will offer me some more experience in this. :)

Edit: Ohh and thanks yet again Rupe for a cracking event, you do a great job as this clubs staff!
