I'm lucky if I can get under 2 mins. I expect the fast boys to be around 1:52 ish

This long version isn't suitable for GT cars IMO.

In what way is it not suitable? I've been zipping around there in the Apollo and it seems perfectly fine to me. Should be good fun.

I think the track is fine as people seem to use autoclutch. I don't and there are some tight 1st gear changes to bring lap time up. I see that as all part of the challenge in sim racing. I should think maybe it's a lot harder on the car in real life. I don't really know though. Tracks like Spa and Nordschliffe (can't spell) are great for gt cars gives them chance to exercise their long legs :)

The normal version has better flow and braking into turn 12 is always exciting. :) Long version has too many slow corner.

@Peter Nickells I'd recommend you using paddle shifters for races to learn how to get up to speed. You will be more smoother, quicker and more competetive. You'll find then racing with stick easier. Don't forget that GT cars use sequential gearbox. Saddly, I don't use stick much for online racing. Only when I'm fast with it or in retro races, off course. :)

I use a sequential shifter, I just use the clutch also as I assume a real car would. I can get up to speed, it's staying on the track that is my problem and that is due to carrying too much speed into the corners for the default set-up Im using. I just lack practice I suppose.

Not all drivers use clutch. They just blip throttle pedal for rev match. Problem with Race07 is that it forces autoblip and interferes with your driving. Only cars with H patterned stick are free of this.

Yeah, it can take time for the word to get out that a new event type is available. There's also often a rush of last-minute sign-ups as people get home from work on race day and find that they have the time to participate. I'm interested myself by am committed elsewhere this evening.
