With immediate effect new content for GRID Autosport is made available by Codemasters for GRID Autosport. Gamers can purchase The ‘Best of British’ Car Pack for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and Windows PC for £2.39

The ‘Best of British’ car pack features three vehicles, each engineered and produced in the UK. In the video above you can see the cars in action, introduced by Lead Handling Designer Gehan Pathiraja, who comments of the creation process, “We spend hours of research and a lot of time behind the pad and the steering wheel to make them [the cars] as accurate as possible. There’s a lot of work that goes into it to make it feel like that car. Because we’ve taken a handcrafted approach, we really care for the gameplay and we want other people to experience that as well.”

    1995 McLaren F1 GTR
“We all know the McLaren F1 is an awesome road car – this is the GTR designed for Endurance Racing. It’s got a huge wing that will give you massive downforce in the corners, it’s all about being brave and attacking those corners at speeds you never thought possible.”

    2011 Aston Martin Zagato V12
“The Zagato model has bodywork styled by Italian designers, but has a typical Aston Martin V12 engine, very powerful, very torquey. If you can manage the weight and the grip and fire it out the corners, you’ll benefit from all that power from the V12.”

    2007 McLaren Mercedes SLR 722
“It’s got a huge supercharged V8 engine that sounds like an old World War Two Spitfire. There’s clearly a lot of power being put out from the V8, and you can really feel that in the car in our game.”

  2. Anyone own this yet? Do these new cars only work in custom races and online or have they been integrated into the single player career?

Disappointing that the cars can't be used in career mode, though.

lol, same old 5[-]i7. release a game with a small amount of content then offer the rest of the game as DLC. BORING!!!!!!!!!! Whatever happened to games and sims that had a plethora of content at release?

  9. It's really got crazy with DLC and micro transactions these days. You get a few garage spots to start with , but when you start buying these /more cars, then you have to buy a garage pack to put them in, from the way it looks.

Let me guess. Next will be "Italian classics", then "American Muscle", then "Australian V8's", then "German Brilliance" and the list of DLC of cars goes on and on. Don't let me start on the tracks :)

It's really maddening because Codemasters are *this* close to getting it right, and delivering something close to a Forza/GT experience on the PC (don't deny it, there's a demand for that). And then they shoot themselves in the foot. Every time.

GAS is actually a fun game, the racing is interesting, the disciplines are nice, car and track selection isn't bad... but instead of adding more AI and difficulty options to let people play the way they want, they don't do that. Instead of an open career mode that lets you collect cars and unlock tracks, you're forced to follow their route of "playing for a team". And you can't even choose between all teams. Etc. Etc.
