Normally my gf and i used @180 litres a month. We drive a 2006 Nissan Pathfinder with a 4 liter V6 with 270hp. It weighs 4800 lbs and has a 90litre tank. $1.37 x 180= 246.60 CDN. We live pretty much in the downtown core so we walk everywhere. Work is a ten minute walk for us. But yesterday was a fuel thirsty day for the PF, my gf and i went to her grandparents place for Thanksgiving Dinner(very delicious one i might add!). Well they live in Kelowna BC which from our place to their place is around 415kms away.

We needed to be their for 7pm so we left at 2pm when my gf got off work. Traffic on Highway 1 was not bad so managed a average cruising speed of 125kph. Speed limit is for the most part 110kph on the Coquihalla Highway. Going east which we were is very hilly drive. Because i was rushing i used 18L/100km of fuel going to Kelowna, so i used 72 litres going there at $1.37 a litre so $98 there. We got to her Relatives with thirty minutes to spare before dinner. We stayed till midnight then we drove back home. We didn't want spend the night there and have to drive back in the morning. We filled up in Kelowna and we took our time coming home. It took us just over 5hrs to get home but the truck used @14l/100km. So 56 litres back at $1.24/litre(fuel's cheaper in Kelowna) cost us $69.50. $167.00 in total for the trip.
