Lesson One "Braking - Shifting - Cornering" - Friday 13 February 2009

BRAKING SHIFTING CORNERING IN A E46

FRIDAY 13 FEBRUARY 2009 the first lesson will be held on a private RaceDepartment server. This session is a try-out if the concept works.
The six selected students must be those that are not capable of driving a BMW E46 yet.

In short the program will look like this:
  • 19:00 GMT - The six students and trainer will will join the TeamSpeak briefingroom for the instructions. Indeed TS! This tool is vital for communication and really helps improving your driving much faster
  • 19:15 GMT - The drivers and trainer are invited in the pitbox of the lovely Brno circuit in the Czech Republic. 7 brand new BMW's are lined up with rolling engines. Go fit a suit and get that helmet on that big noggin.
  • 19:25 GMT - Trainer and students line up for recon lap on the track. Follow eachother closely and do not overtake. Keep distance. The trainer will drive the same pace as the slowest driver of the group
  • 19:30 GMT - Return in the pit (dont forget your limiter) get out of the car and take well deserved drink.
  • 19:35 GMT - Trainer will drive a lap at full speed with all the drivers on the backseat of the instructors BMW. Yes it will fit!!
  • 19:40 GMT - Trainer shows where to brake for each corner. Students follow in line.
  • 19:45 GMT - Trainer shows how to shift with a RWD car. Student try the same. Cars have now rubber splitters mounted so no damage can be made. Followed by a free practice session.
  • 20:00 GMT - The most important part of the night. How to take those corners. Brake, Downshift, Steer, Stabilize the car, Accelerate. Clumsy at first but mastered after intense training. Trainer observes and comments.
  • 20:30 GMT - 2 lap race between the students.
  • 20:45 GMT - Put that race overall in the laundry, take a shower, :kissing: eachother and off you go!!
