    Track: Interlagos GP

Please read this post, there is important race information for this special event.

    Practice: 19:00 GMT
Qualifying: 19:15 GMT (20 minutes - see notes below!)
Warm up: 19:35 GMT (10 minutes)
    Race 1: 19:45 GMT (71 laps)

During the entire event, all sessions, the only tyres you are permitted to use are the Mediums and the Hards. Do not use the soft compounds.

You will have 5 laps: one out-lap, 3 hot-laps, and an in-lap. This is in order to avoid traffic congestion when qualifying. Do not exceed 5 laps or you will be DQ'd and will start the race from the back of the grid.

    Pit Stop
During the race, pit stop strategy is entirely up to you, however you must use both Medium and Hard tyres in the race (complete sets as in F1) Set the tires as a pre-set in your garage, or change your tire choice by requesting a pit stop while on track and using the LCD screen:

When pitting, stick to the left side of the track as you approach the pit lane. Stay inside the white line - no late moves over the solid line to dive into the pit lane.

Although written for the Formula Vees, the pit stop guide here contains useful information if you're unfamiliar with pitting.

This event is being posted nice and early so we can get maximum sign ups, but also that you can practice so we don't get a big pile up in turn 1. On lap 1, turns 1 and 2 will be considered a red zone. This simply means that the replay of the start will be looked at automatically - any incidents caused by overly aggressive behaviour or rules being broken will be penalised, potentially with license suspensions. It is a long race, don't wreck other people's fun on the first lap. This is even more important if you'd like to see more races like this in future.

    Track Limits
Standard track limits apply - see examples of track limits for Interlagos here. Special note of the final corner, keep two wheels within the white line shown here:

    Low assists will be available.

Let's fill up the grid! You can ask other drivers to practice or race with you by using the tag function of the forum. Just type an @ directly followed by the user name and this person will receive a notification.

Our racing clubs are foremost meant to gain online experience so please help other drivers out when they have questions about the event, the car, the track, the setup or a combination. @Andrew James Please sign me up with the #10 Indian Momentum car.

  7. @Andrew James Sign me up for now. Not sure if I will be able to make it. It all depends if I can get a league race posponed by a week. I race with http://www.shadowracingrsa.net/

    Car = Grove Motorsports #19

BTW If we are using the games default track we will be forced to use the mediums & hard tyres for the race. I just had a look. Or is there a way to change it for the race?

Okay, let me know for sure at least 24 hours ahead of the race so if you can't make it someone else can. Thanks.

I did testing and started a race on softs, so I am not sure about your tire thing. Does anyone else have an issue starting on softs? Before going to the race track to start the race, go to garage 1 and change tires there.

Parc ferme will be whatever the default is, I won't select it, but some cars by default are parc ferme. I believe you can change the reiza's but I'll test and let you know for sure closer to the race when I put the server up. Maybe someone else already knows?

You'll need the default versions; if you don't want to remove your mods, some people use a second install that stays default with no mods.

Thanks Andrew. But surely I'll just see the skins? Nobody else will?

by the way, I do have a seperate install for that too.

The files will need to match the ones online I think. When the server goes up you can just join in practice and we can check. If it works, fine, if not, well you have that 2nd install and no problem anyway.

Edit: Just so everyone knows I changed my choice to race in a Sochi GP car. Just because, you know, I like 'em and I can.

I've never had any problems using modded skins in online races but if you want to play it safe you could do as Andrew said.
