LASKEY HITS BACK
Jack Laskey made a return to form, beating James McNamara to the Japanese Grand Prix in slightly controversial fashion, an extremely aggressive move from the Brit saw both cars collide, with Laskey continuing and McNamara spinning. But for DTK, a win was a win, and kept them alive in the Constructors Championship as well.
Tapio Rinneaho and Jordan Bradford combined well to bring home another strong finish for Falcon, who actually walked away with the most points from the day. While DTK may be chasing 2KF1 for the title, Falcon are actually closer to them, which could set up a juicy final few rounds. The result also propels the Falcon's into 3rd and 4th overall. Both ARTs were next, a strong result for them given recent efforts, Rossello leading Sigoulakis. Stephan Bohner continued his fine form with 7th place, leading Dani Tottos, Rob Sharp and Carlos Rodriguez.
Ben Utzer was both lucky and unlucky, 11th is his second best result of the season remarkably, after his 5th in Portugal. He was in the points for much of the day, but couldn't hold onto the spot. Tim Engberink made a few aggressive moves which all ended up with him facing the wrong way ahead of Luke Rosella and the duo of Daniel Harvey and Rui Martins. An early tangle from the two drivers early saw them at the back, little chance of points, leaving the lead drivers to battle for the points. Damian Son and Omer Said had little luck, while Dovizioso, Wright and Allington all were a lap down. Retirements for Cornes and Guardian.
Next round is back Down Under for the Pacific Grand Prix. Marketplace closes at 10am Sunday AEDT.
