What field of view do you all use?

I normally use 82 but thought I'd try out 40. It's so much cooler on 40, you can get right up to the back of other cars, just have limited view and the car appears to turn a hell of a lot faster.

I use 120 FOV at 1360x768.. Some cars i have to use that FOV otherwise I can't see the Rear View Mirror

The lower the FOV the higher the sensation of speed? Is that right?
As well as more precise control?

As I understand it, the lower the FOV, the lower the sense of speed.

As for more precise? I can't say.

I use FOV 110 on a 24'". It's great, never tried lower then default.
But i will see what it looks like. Don't think it will be better for me though...

Just thinking, While I use 50-55 degrees, I can see how that really hurts me at Laguna Seca. The corkscrew would be a lot better to hit correctly with a larger FOV!

I like to use around 98-89 FOV that way I can still have a good FOV and see the real rear view mirror
instead of vurtual if used on low FOV but its all personal prefferance really

I should add that I use TrackIR so my total viewing angle, what I'm capable of seeing, is much greater. Looking into the corner, so cool!

The lower FOV also adds to the realism of elevation changes of the track. The wider the FOV, the flatter the track seems.

I agree with that, I was using a FOV of 100 until I saw the pics in this thread now I use 75, much better IMO.

I'm on triple screen 3x27" using 3x1280x800 via softth. I sit around 80cm from center screen; Nordschleife looks like youtube onboard videos at 55-60 for me; and that's what I set it to.

Agree with lower FOV, i also use around 75. Better view i feel, not like looking out from a tube or stg, also better for more precision driving.

tried this out and the calculation had me at 2x11.1 degrees. Um 23 degrees really?

Hmm weird used the calculator. I am sitting 65 cm for my 1440*900 screen and it says i need to use arround 40 Fov.
Wich is crazy i think.

I'm Triple screen 3x 22" using 3x 1680x1050 with THTGO digital. Also sit around 80cm and use 60-70fov

I don't get that FOV-tool.. its fine like this... Just use what think / feeling says is best

I'm using a FOV of 71 - 73, sitting about 4 ft from my 58" HDTV. I've tried it at the default and it's okay, but for me, it feels more realistic with a lower FOV.
