Formula 1 2011 Season's 5th destination is Spain and here we watched a rather dull qualification session today.

Red Bulls were the fastest cars in Friday and Saturday morning practices and they were naturally the favorites today. But the question was the inter-team battle's outcome. And this battle's winner was Mark Webber. Austrulian managed to grab the pole position and put an end to team-mate Sebastian Vettel's serie of pole-sitting.

Session started with Heikki Kovalainen's surprise. As Nick Heidfeld's burnt car in morning practices could'nt be fixed in time and Rubens Barrichello had a gearbox issue, Lotus Team driver managed to get into Q2. The other disqualifications were the usual HRT-Virgin cars.

In Q2, surprise came from Williams's Pastor Maldonado while promising Saubers were disappointed by 12th and 14th grid positions. Also Kovalainen surprised again by passing Force Indias which only ran with their hard tyres.

In the final showdown. Teams did only 1 fast lap to preserve soft tyres for the race tomorrow. Webber took the pole by only 0.2 seconds from Vettel. Lewis Hamilton came 3rd way behind of them, while home-star Fernando Alonso came 4th. Michael Schumacher did not do any runs to keep more fresh tyres for the race and took a gamble.
