F1 2011 F1 2011 info to drop prior to Melbourne season opener

F1 2011 The Game (Codemasters)
You may or may not know this....

This morning, Codies has told us that it’ll start confirming details for the 2011 version “prior” to the Australian Grand Prix on the weekend of March 24 in Melbourne.

“We’re locking everything into place right now and will drop the info bomb on FORMULA ONE in 2011 immediately prior to the season start in Melbourne, confirming the full format line up, release date and headline features,” the publisher told VG247 in an email.

“We’ll also be inviting players to ask the dev team anything, which may lead to being featured in future dev diary videos, and offering some the chance to get in-studio and have early hands-on during development.”

F1 2010 released last September for PS3, 360 and PC. It was the first number one title for the sport since Sony held the rights with Foruma One 2001.

Good to know, I've been waiting ages to see if any of our questions will be answered from that old thread. Also, I'm curious to know if any of our "wish list" suggestions made it into the game (fingers crossed for podiums).

What you said, i also want a safty car but am not sure how it would work. If there was like a story mode then yes i can see it, but i cant see it in career or a normal race sadly.

Although it would be cool to have, safety car was one of the things I could live without for the moment as it would mean a lot of work for something that - I assume - a lot would want as an option to be turned on/off at their own discretion. However, they would have to improve the damage and AI fallibility to warrant proper safety cars. If they can improve that, then I think safety cars would have a place. I can see figuring out the subtleties of deployment being a programming nightmare. I remember reading that they did look into it for 2010 but time forced them to cut it out, so if they develop it on the back burner for now and they give us good podium ceremonies in 2011, I'd look to 2012 for a safety car.
