Sorry does anyone else get a crash when installing this hud?
This is the error?
Ive tried in my beta version but i get the same results?
Seems like it doesnt like the supplied d3d9.dll?
I install following the steps in the readme.
*Installation
1. copy d3d9.dll and evoHUD.nut to game root folder.
2. copy evoHUD.dll and evoHUD folder to plugins folder.
Is there something else I should be doing?

I had a similar crash.
1. copy d3d9.dll and evoHUD.nut to game root folder. - Same
2. copy evoHUD.dll and evoHUD folder to plugins folder. - Same
3. I added evoHUD.ini to the game root folder, with the following lines to enable SweetFX.
[General]
OriginalD3D9DLL = d3d9_2.dll

This cured the startup crash.

Try this way:
1. Rename original d3d9.dll inside AMS folder in d3d9_3.dll
2. copy d3d9.dll and evoHUD.nut to game root folder, add evoHUD.ini to the game root folder and edit line like this
[General]
OriginalD3D9DLL = d3d9_3.dll

3. copy evoHUD.dll and evoHUD folder to plugins folder

Enjoy!

[General]
OriginalD3D9DLL = d3d9_2.dll

Why you say "to enable SweetFX", is it disabled?

Please can you elaborate this a little more?
I am genuinely interested on this...wasn't d3d9.dll for Sweetfx and d3d9_2 for DynHUD?
@Richard8746 and @Alex Sawczuk are correct. The original d3d9.dll is for dynHUD and d3d9_2.dll is for sweetfx.

I'll check this.

I'm no expert on this, but this is what I've found since using Autombilista.
d3d9.dll (147KB) - DynHUD
This is what some people delete to completely disable DynHUD, if it's causing stuttering.

d3d9_2.dll - SweetFX
I found this when I was using GID HUD:
To enable SweetFX, edit the GIDPlugin.ini
Change line 5 from
OriginalD3D9Dll=DEFAULT
to
OriginalD3D9Dll=d3d9_2.dll

http://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/gid-patched-for-ams.9349/

EDIT - DaVeX↯ - Just saw your edit. Glad you got it working

I can't reproduce CTD.

. . . .when did you get CTD at startup or immediately after press drive? I also ask you to try 1.2.0.

I got "Automobilista has stopped working" at startup.
The mistake I had made was to incorrectly edit the evoHUD.ini file:
[General]
OriginalD3D9DLL = d3d9.dll

It worked when I changed it to this:
[General]
OriginalD3D9DLL = d3d9_2.dll

EDIT
I just tried 1.2.0. No crash with the recommended instructions:

1. copy d3d9.dll and evoHUD.nut to game root folder.
2. copy evoHUD.dll and evoHUD folder to plugins folder.
3. evoHUD.ini with the following lines to enable SweetFX.

[General]
OriginalD3D9DLL = d3d9_2.dll

I see. I'm sure it is. Thanks for reporting.

I got it working with the standard install instructions with the ams beta but couldn't seem to make it work with the standard ams install?
Currently reinstalling main ams install as I was in need of a tidy up anyway.
I'll let you know in the morning how it goes.
The crash would only happen when I reached the circuit.

This is current status of 1.3.0 release.

As soon as Sam Smith's issue is solved, 1.3.0 will be released.

Since 1.3.0 source code already froze, there is no additional features.
1.3.0-release changelog will be below since RC2:
  • fixed flickering in case of large number of vehicles
Below items are already in development code but unfortunately these are for next(1.4.0) release.
  • fixed jerky motion of track map
  • optimized track map drawing

I use BitDefender free edition (yes I know but so far it has served me well).

It detects the "evohud.dll" file and quarentines it.

I am sure it is a false positive but there are several other programs that also detect it as can be seen here:
https://www.virustotal.com/#/file/5...c02bda1d818f4fc8983eef03acd2663580a/detection

Just FYI. I am NOT saying the file is a virus and I do not believe it is. Just in case others have issues extracting the file etc.

Great app and love using it.

That detection is from the "evoHUD-1.3.0RC2" release linked earlier.

*edit*
Just a suggestion but you could if the release version still has the false positive maybe in the readme file maybe link to the VirusTotal scan of the full ZIP and tell people to exclude the files if they wish to use it until the false positives are resolved by the virus scanner software providers.

Oh, it puts me in a difficult position. I believe it's false positive and it's now gone since I use different(old) compiler.
This is the result of it'll be in the release archive.

I'll put the result on overview page, just in case.

Yes I am sure it is a false positive. I was not being negative at all. Just trying to highlight the issue before you get lots of support requests. Save you work hopefuly :D
