Did someone already make a race start in cockpit view ? There seems to be a little bug: the view is remaining inclined on the flat track after the starting line ... only way to settle this is changing view a few times while driving ???

Do you have the same problem or is it only me ?

  14. Setting the E V8 up on this track was a hit & miss affair.

Unbelievable tyre pressures were needed to get an even spread. And only using Motec did I see I needed to stop the right rear damper from bottoming out.

Quali: 3 secs off the leaders pace. Laps were sweet enough.

R1: Started 5th. I was ready for a steady run. Feel my way through the race. I gained 4th place as we set off but, I thought we had the whole oval to complete before turning into the midfield and so I was braking like crazy and missed the turn in.

A couple of drivers dropped into the field at the exit of the turn and I regained 4th. So, once again we on the approach to the midfield turn in and up alongside comes Jari A. It unsettled me and as he passed and once again I find myself late braking.

On lap 2-3 I settled into a racing form and began to watch the clocks, I was quite a few seconds behind Dennis. I made the turn into the midfield once more and this time I saw the 2 cars of Dennis and Kieron. Something must have happened to slow them. As we approached the 2nd corner I expected to take it at my usual pace but Kieron was slower in and I collected him. (Sorry Kieron)

I had suspension damage and took to the pits. I made my way around once more and on the very same corner I had the accident with Kieron I out-braked and straight into the barrier and, damaged again. I gave up and spectated.

Race 2: On pole. Immediately Matt came from 6th and into the front. I followed him into the infield and watched the carnage behind me as I gave chase.

Matt strolled off and I sat 5 seconds behind and it was more or less that way for the next 2 laps. On turn 2 I pushed too hard and once again clouted the barrier and incurring suspension and Aero damage. Twice I tried to re enter the track but each time I did a 180 and put it in the grass again. Now I was down to 4th.

The next lap was a little dodgy with the bad handling and once again at the re entry to the midfield I went onto the grass where Dennis passed me and that's me in 5th place.

During the next 2 laps I got used to the feel of the car. On lap 5 Dennis went onto the grass and I had 4th back. I noticed on the straights that I was getting a top speed of 177MPH whereas in the previous sessions it was 171 max?? ON lap 6 I was on the tails of Kieron and Jean-Pierre. I followed them for 2 laps after getting used to the drafting I was getting.

The two of them were in battle and I felt that between them they might mess up and leave the door open. So, I sat behind to try to add to their worries. I drafted passed the pair and made the turn into the midfield. This was lap 8. Me and Kieron swapped places a few times as we approached the dreaded turn 2. Not wanting to clip Kieron's tail again I let the car drift out a little and once again I was in the grass and in 5th again.

On lap 11 I drafted passed Dennis. At the next turn Kieron and Jean had a coming together and while Jean waited for Kieron I passed the pair. I stayed in 2nd until the finish. Matt was 60 seconds ahead so, unless he stopped for a coffee 2nd was the best I could hope for.

Along the back straight I took the time to look at all my dials. I noticed I had 0.9 Ltrs of fuel left and I watched in horror as it ticked down fast. I got into the penultimate turn and the car spluttered once, then again during the short straight and as we headed into the last turn it died and I coasted across the line for 2nd place. Phew!!

    Nice race!

It was carnage like you might expect at the first chicane at Monza in a public race. So confusing, no one knew who had to wait for who!
