F1 2010 Engine selection before a race.

Hi all friends.

My question is: Could you select which engine you want to use in the next race?

The game makes the choice itself, and if you want to use another engine you lost the whole free practice. Is this normal or not?

I do not think there is a way to change engines prior to the start of P1 in a race weekend session. This bites the big one as we should be able to select which engines we want to use prior to the start of the weekend. There is a work-around to this issue though if you want to get some practice time in while not using up the engine. Do P1 with the engine the game selects for you and just prior to the end of the P1 session, just restart the session. Then go back into the P1 session, select the engine you want to use for P2 and P3 and change it. You will still have your practice time (in fact you can practice as much as you want by simply restarting the practice sessions) and you won't put undo wear on the engine you want to use in the race. Just make sure that near the end of P3 to change engines again to use the engine you want to use in the race.

No, you cant but My993C2 has got a good idea, but be aware changing engines takes more than 1hr so best to get a lap in before u change engines!
