Hey everyone, long time lurker, first time poster 
..anyway here is my mod, all you need are two thumbscrews and some rubber bands of preferred tension and twist them around the stick and thumb screws. If you get it right it even clicks up and down gears.
I have been playing iRacing like this and it's quite good. Its not a replacement for proper hardware but good as a temp thing and thought I would share, enjoy.
