Cruise Control?

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone knows a way to implement a cruise control "switch" into a game which doesn't have cruise control.

I was thinking about doing this by having a program which would simulate a trigger on a controller pressed in a certain amount. I would have a chip from a keyboard plugged into my computer and a switch which would be wired to the board. I would use the program to map the key that the switch emulates when I turn it on.

Does anyone know of a program that would allow me to do this?

Thanks in advance :)

Using a switch would have you running at 100% throttle. A better option would be to use a pot wired to a USB board that supports analog inputs to preset the amount of throttle, then a switch in line with that to turn it on and off.

Another option that came to mind would be to put a DP3T switch in line with the accelerator pot from your pedals with the 3 wires from the pot going to one side of the switch and another pot of the same value wired to the other side. Then you can toggle between the regular pedal, and the preset pot.
