Cockpit-mounted or monocoque-mounted rear-view mirrors?

Personally, I like the monocoque-mounted rear-view mirrrors because when I player F1 Championship Edition on the PS3 and F1 2010 on PS3 and PC, the Ferrari 248 F1 had its rear-view mirrors mounted on the monocoque which brought convenience of sorts; same with the 2010 Red Bull car in F1 2010 career mode on PS3.

I wish the rules would allow for mounting based on driver preference because Schumi prefers his mirrors to be mounted on the bodywork.

The mirrors positions in 2010 were banned halfway through the season, as they acted as an aerodynamic aid.
