F1 2013 Can't change my player name

I have a problem that doesn't make me change my name. At the start menu it asks you "what's your name'' it says player One, when I try to change it it doesn't make me. I press enter, backspace, nothing happens. When I go in the game as Player One I try to change it in the options, but that doesn't allow me either

Sorry to hear that ....

I have just used my XBox Controller to create a new driver account, then once the game started, I went to the driver details and changed the name again. After re-booting the game my new re-named account was available to play.

I guess this problem is effecting certain systems, but that needs narrowing down by Codemasters I would assume. Unless someone finds a lucky fix.

I am on Window 8 Pro x64.

There is not much more that I can say here, except to keep your eye on the Codemasters forum

Reading Codemasters forums or other ones, it seems that the problem occurs on some configurations, you are right.
I am on windows 7 ultimate x64.
I will wait for more informations from Codies.

OK I have just done a quick test ..... and this seems to work. I have only got my keyboard connected at the moment, I would have to test again when I connect my wheel

1/ Start the game and just leave the names alone, accept it as it is (Player One?)

2/ MyF1 > Driver Information > Driver Details > Now you can change both names
....

The serious problem is when I want to change name: it seems that pessing A or Enter on whatever button can't open the edit-name window

Don't really want to say this, but mostly it lies on a bugged or modified steam_api.dll and/or .ini.

I think the problem must be Windows 7 only. I tried the keyboard only thing and it was all the same

Hahahaha. I read somewhere on the internet that it's a problem with a certain CRACK. So, yea. You sure you're using original game?

Kristian Nenov, I didn't want to be so directly. It works for me well on Win 7 with 64 Bit.

The problem is that the keyboard uses different mapping. CTRL, = and shift all do things. I just don't remember what...

The reason is very simple, he downloaded game and used skidrows crack, I check this and this is the problem, crack has some bugs

For me doesn't work anyway.
I explain better: only keyboard is plugged (no gamepad or wheel), I open F1 2013 and when I press Enter on "Name - Player" to change the name does not open any box where I write the name! Is so strange!
The same happens when I try to assign a name to a car's setup ..nothing.

NB: I wonder if there is a way to change the user name out of the game. In F1 2012 in "Start - Run - Regedit" you could modify a string in the registry key in which is stored your user name .. but I can not find any of that for F1 2013.

Update: Just saw in internet the chief pirate has solved the can't-change-name problem.
