  1. This game will be powered by Infograme Grand Prix 4 game.

This game puts you in the shoes of a Formula 1 team manager. You will have to put under contract drivers, buy parts for you cars, make some R&D and please the sponsors.

You can join anytime, but places are limited. If enough people show interest, maybe a second level will be created and serve as a minor serie.

Manager name: (first name) (last name)
    Team name: (nothing absurd please)
    Car colour: (one colour)
    Engine: (see below)
    Chassis: (see below)
    Cooling: (see below)
    Gearbox: (see below)
    Drivers: (see below)

Allraces will be simulated with GP4. I will have no control over what happen and what do not happen during week-ends. The format will be both practices, a 30 minute qualification and a full lenth race. However take note that for the moment I have no intention of recording and uploading the events.

    Season End:
This will be a "crash-test" season, so the end season procedure is not 100% set in stone just yet. I will keep you inform in due time.

    Point Systems:
The points system will be based on the pre 2003 scoring system.

    1: 10pts
    2: 6 pts
    3: 4 pts
    4: 3pts
    5: 2 pts
    6: 1 pt

Teams will start with $4 500. The reward system is as such.

Each team can choose three(3) sponsors:
-one(1) Primary Sponsor, worth 2x its value.
    -two(2) Seconday Sponsors

Sponsors are devided in four(4) classes based on requirements (not in 1st season) and sponsorship value. The revenue you get of sponsorship is based on results in qualification and race. You only receive money from your highest sponsor that your resuslt meet the requirements. The sponsor system is still very basic, it will be more advanced next season.

    Class A1 sponsor,
    Reward : $500 up to $1 500.
Requirements : None for first season
LImit : 1 per team (Can't be use if you have an A2 Sponsor)

    Class A2 sponsor,
    Reward : $400 up to $600.
Requirements : None for first season
Limit : 1 per team (Can't be use if you have an A1 Sponsor)

    Class B sponsor,
    Reward : $150 up to $400.

    Class C sponsor,
    Reward : $10 up to $150.

    Weather: Randomized by the game.

    Parts and suppliers:
Your cars need parts to keep running. Here are all the parts and their suppliers that you can contract with. (Price is per race)

Each team can have up to three(3) drivers, the first driver, second driver and test/reserve driver.

You can find the roster of all available driver here :

Keep in mind that you must pay your driver, parts and extra expenses ( $250 ) such as transportation and fuel cost based on engine every race.

The only way to improve your cars is to pass by the R&D.
    To improve your car you will have to spend Development points (Dev. Points for short). Your team will automatically earn points at every practice sessions during week-ends and a double amount during schedule test sessions. The number of points earned is based on;

    -The consistency of your drivers.

If your driver aren't consistent the datas are not either.
    You can also loose Dev. Points if;

-You have a mechanical failure during the test/practice sessions.
-Your driver crash the car in the test/practice sessions.

Your gains are the average number of points ALL your drivers earned.

    R&D Market:

    Racing Performances :
For each point invested, you increase the maximum gain possible but also the maximum lost in qualification BHP and reliability.

    Qualification Performances :
For each point invested, you increase the maximum gain possible but also the maximum lost in race BHP and reliability.

    Reliability Improvements :
For each point invested, you increase the maximum gain possible but also the maximum lost in race BHP and qualification BHP.

    Driver Moral
Depending on the results of the previous race, your driver will earn a moral bonus or a penalty that will affect is skills for the next race. This is not a permanent buff and is add/remove base on his natural skill.

Note: These bonus/penalty are adjusted base on GP4 driver ability values.

Pre-season test : Jerez (Spain) *Three(3) days (sessions)
    1- Interlagos (Brazil)

    2- Imola (San Marino)
    3- Monte Carlo (Monaco)
    4- Montreal (Canada)
    5- Silverstone (United Kingdom)

Hmm, not to be a grumpy guts or anything, especially as I can see you've put a lot of thought into it, but I don't think this game is needed. :(

1st off, it seems to be a merger of three forum games we already have, Steven Poirier's sim game (GP4), my rFactor sim game (which is only here because it is just far enough away from Steven's) and the Formula Manager game. I'm sorry but I don't think Omer Said would want to have another game which is similar to others he has to deal with.

We have the Discussions thread in which you should propose a game like this first. http://www.racedepartment.com/forum/threads/discussion-forum-games.62275/
However, if you want to get involved in the other games this is like, there is space in them. ;)

Saying that, if it is decided that this game can stay and will happen, I will happily sign up.:)

Thought so first, too. But if you look on it than its quite different in my opinion
  5. I've take a look at the game you talked about way before starting to plan mine out and in the end I inspire it out of Pole Position 1996 but in a form like you've seen. No competition involved but I'll be a good player and post in the thread you've linked and see what others have to say about it.

Basicly it's a lost of performance caused by the part. BHP is the final power that get to the wheels, not the RAW HP of the engine.

I think it is all very complicated for something which doesn't quite need to be. The money especially, I know that it is more lifelike with these numbers but it just gets lost in everything..
still, regardless, I will enter :D

If you could get a template for us to attempt a livery, that would actually be amazing!

  14. Well that's an interesting feedback. I'll look into making things a bit simpler, especially the money. This is a test season to iron out things and to make them work as they should, so every feedback is apreciated.

As for the template, I'll see what I can do ;)

While it looks similar to our current GP4 and rFactor games, this one is different with a managerial approach and looks promising in my opinion. If there are no objections (please say your ideas dear FR folk) this game is a GO. But as we have too many forum games currently, the game has to stay update and go on without long waitings. Otherwise it might get deleted. Thank you for the game Electro.

I will sign up as well, but has to do some planning first :D

By the way i agree with Aidan. The prize values are a bit complicated.

  16. Thanks Omer Said :)

So, I've take a look at the money numbers and realise it can hurts eyes (After I took a step back from working on it). So with feedbacks I've got three solutions.

    Solution 1 : Divided numbers by a 1000, shriking them from $333 300 to 333$ for exemple.
Solution 2 : Keeping numbers in the hundred's of K, but with simpler number. 333 300$ and use 330 000$.
    Solution 3 : Using a good old "abreviation". 330K, 1020K, 2K.

Tell me what you think since you will be playing it :)

Solution 1 is easiest for us to understand

  19. Yep, that why my upgrade cost 50$ and higher, only because is easier to manage :)
