To get the most out of hosting a server, you need to buy one. Maybe ask around.

If you just want to locally host, you most likely had to fiddle around with buckets off stuff like firewalls ect.

forward these ports through your firewall
    TCP+UDP 48942 - 48957 and UDP 48958-48973

Sorry like i said very new to all of this.
I can join a open room with no problems and have had my first few races. But i cant host a room like i did on my 360 and then people can join my room/looby? Is this right i need a server to host a open room so anybody can jump in

if you have a router and/or firewall you need to forward the ports Neil posted then ppl will be able to join your room
but dont think you can host a full grid of 25 ppl depends on your Linespeed for how many ppl you can host
