Automotive TV & man stuff telly

Starting this thread so we can keep up to date with automotive stuff on the TV box in 2014.

A brief history of the TV for the under 25's, it's the big screen in your living room that everyone can watch.
Alas a long time ago in the UK we only 3 channels and with black & white pictures, with no recording device.
In the 1980's we got 4 channels & VCR machines with big black plastic tape cassettes
(a bit like a CD but rectangle) and we had to buy them in real shops !!
You could then record your programs on these, unless you hid the tape your with Topgear on it your mum would tape Coronation street over the top of it never to be seen again !.
1990's the birth of SKY TV a game changer but with more rubbish channels

Jump to 2014 and you can watch TV on any thing with a screen, any time any place in between sim-racing :)

Just a few of my favorites to start with

BBC, TopGear - 3 blokes going grey cocking about in the odd car now and then ( now a family show )
Discovery, Fifth Gear - 2 racers, 1 car bloke , and one very nice lady who screams when she's driving fast :inlove: (still a proper car show like TopGear use to be)
Discovery - Wheeler Dealers, Buy car, fix car, sell car for profit " Edd you've done it again "
Discovery Turbo - Lots of programs with the USA custom theme

A few that programs that were on recently

Idris Elba - King of Speed http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b03nnsnq
Speed with Guy Martin http://www.channel4.com/programmes/speed-with-guy-martin/4od
Patrick Dempsey Le Mans http://www.discoveryuk.com/tv-guide/?type=series&channel_code=DCUK-ENG&series_id=209097

Soon - James May toy stories http://www.radiotimes.com/episode/c...--james-mays-toy-stories-the-motorcycle-diary

Post links or info off any related program for Automotive or Man stuff telly to watch or record

I love racing but never been much of a car person to be honest! Watch Wheeler Dealers every now then though and I like the Top Gear specials when they're abroad but tend to get bored of the regular shows.

You've also reminded me to watch the last Patrick Dempsey episode  been interesting to watch and it's nice to see he is not just some rich wanker thrill seeking.

I'm not sure if you're taking international recommendations, but for Australians with Foxtel there is V8 Supercar Classics every Tuesday at 7:30pm on SPEED. They show old V8 Supercars races which is pretty cool :)
