Reiza Studios are happy to confirm that AUTOMOBILISTA - Motorsports Simulator will be released on Steam very soon.

As previously announced, AMS is the successor of Stock Car Extreme, featuring major new simulation features, numerous substantial improvements along with plenty of extra content.

We would like to share with you all now some details of what is under the hood of AMS:

Elite Brazilian Series

As a greatly revamped successor to Stock Car Extreme. AUTOMOBILISTA continues to simulate elite Brazilian autoracing series such as Stock Car V8, Copa Petrobras de Marcas, Formula 3 Brasil and Mitsubishi Lancer Cup, now packing every car and every track from their respective 2015 championships.

Beyond the brazilian core, AUTOMOBILISTA is extensively complemented with one of the most diverse selections or racing vehicles to be found in a racing game. In AMS you will also find:

Diverse Racing Disciplines & Venues

In addition to the comprehensively upgraded content from Stock Car Extreme, AUTOMOBILISTA turns it up to a new level by adding all the new cars & tracks proposed in the SimRacing Bonanza crowdfunding campaign. Accessible Simracing


A nicely streamlined 1080p UI allows users to quickly choose game mode, pick a car and track, set up a session up and hit the track within a few clicks. The thoroughly optimized graphics in turn provide users with the fluid frame rates required for a great sim racing experience even with a mid-level PC.

EDIT. Hmm, kinda confused now. The Reiza video seems to show a wheel that has way more switches on it at the bottom, but the aero package looks like the FW23. Being no expert I am out of my depth at this point. :p
well in AMS it is technically fictional car so .. steering wheels might differ I guess :)
 
Do you not use a wheel? No idea why people would want the hands/wheel on if they're using a wheel.

Its an old debate but it depends on your seating position. I don't use a driving rig - my wheel is clamped to a standard desk and I'm sat upright. When I'm staring at the screen I can't see my own wheel - its out of my line of sight. Driving the very few sims that don't include driver hands/arms it looks like there is no driver in the car and for me it spoils the immersion.

I can understand that if your own wheel is in your line of sight you would prefer to disable the on-screen wheel.

Of course we are all looking for different things. Some people want the wheel on the screen to match the rotation of their steering wheel. Presumably their real wheel is in their line of sight and they want their virtual wheel to match it.

But when we are all driving with VR technology I predict nearly everyone will want in-game hands on the wheel :)
 
Perhaps more on topic, there are some very impressive improvements coming. 720 Hz is very fast. I always thought ISI Motor 2 ran at 400 Hz though rather than 360 Hz.

Does the air density affect lift/drag and power? Brake and engine Cooling?
 
The dirt section effects are somewhat lacking. There should definitely be more dust/dirt flying all over the place if it is to simulate rl RX. This is apparent in Foz 2013 event video on YouTube as well.
But it is decent already and not a whole lot more needed, since I guess we don't want it to obstruct visibility too much...

I'm sure it drives great, though, and that's what matters most. Should be fun ! :)
