Reiza Studios remain hard at work developing Early Access title Automobilista and as the studio nears its latest public release further details have been revealed regarding future development of the title.

Biggest news for the upcoming version 0.9.3 will be the public release of both the Boxer Cup car and American racetrack Virginia International Raceway.

Both the Boxer and VIR are playable with the beta backers version of the title and have received plenty of positive reactions from gamers so far. The Boxer Cup car is an entertaining drive backed by immersive sounds and will surely become a favorite choice for AMS players upon release.

ViR has been recreated with the usual attention to detail lavished on Reiza created tracks and this unusual and challenging circuit will make a fine addition to the interesting and lesser known tracks already found in the title.

As well as previewing the upcoming new public build content Reiza have given a first viewing of some additional new content they hope to add to the game in the next few weeks. Now defunct Brazilian racing series the Copa Montana truck series as well as the Speedland kart track and Mendig Gymkhana location are well advanced and can be seen in the previews within this article.

Of course this new content comes at no additional cost to Automobilista Early Access owners and Reiza Studios expect to update the game with the new additions during the next 3 weeks. Keep an eye out on RaceDepartment for news of when these new items release.

As well as the new, free, content coming to AMS the team over in Brazil have revealed details of the first round of premium DLC content making its way into the game.

Brands Hatch in Great Britain is the first of 3 British circuits coming to Automobilista (Oulton Park and Cadwell Park will be included at a later date). One would assume the AMS Brands Hatch will include both the National and Grand Prix version of the circuit, however this has yet to be confirmed by the studio.

As well as the paid DLC Reiza are also releasing a high performance open wheel car from yesteryear, the Formula Vintage.

Very early preview WIP shots of the first paid DLC car for AMS, the Ultima GTR have been revealed, showing off some detailed moddling already undertaken by the studio. Reiza have confirmed the Ultima will be the first DLC car released and it should be a nice addition to the game for those with a taste for mid performance GT sports cars.

Further work is also well underway developing back end functionality around the web portal and integration with the game, hopefully improving usability of the title and bringing a more streamlined approach to various online elements of the game.

The free AMS dedicated tool via Steam is now in beta and should be made available shortly - league runners interested in giving the beta a try feel free to contact Renato Simioni via PM for advanced access.

There will be in between 10-12 DLC items released over the remainder of 2016, each item including either one completely new series or venue, with prices for each item ranging from US$ 2.99 to US$ 4.99

Exactly, that was a demonstration of fog. We tweaked the parameters to make it look a bit more dramatic, and I'm sure that fog could also help to give rain a more realistic look. But we have not implemented that. :)

Cool, do I really see a RAIN ? =O Cool.
How much does it affect the performance, fps ?
Also I noticed that there is possible to see white siluets of cars. It doesnt look natural. Is possible to improove it ? Or it is limitaton of game engine ?
 
I am curious...is this a potential issue for this game or is the fun and immersion greater than the looks, and all is still enjoyable enough and maybe easier on my average system than for example AC?

I have played assetto Corsa for 1300hours and own and run the race department Australian servers. Since playing Ams I cant go back to assetto as AMS for me feels so damm good and I'm loving it. The graphics are not bad at all especially if you follow the instructions carefully in the manual for setting up your graphics options correctly especially NVIDIA inspector settings if you have NVIDIA.

You will not regret purchasing AMS in my opinion
Last weeks races we got 19 on ams and 6 for gt3 race on assetto . Enough said
 
ofcourse it looks worse than ac, pcars etc. not even the devs are saying the opposite. theyre interested in newer graphic engines too. but the comparison was with 2005

ps: and by the way we still havent seen the best from this engine. shaders could easily further improved
 
Well I'd like to have some endurance racing in AMS, but this plugin is not only about it. Sprint races also suffer with people losing connection especially in early race (like formation lap), would be great if we could just come back.
I never used that plugin, just found out about it last week. I think as long as it remembers the damage a car had it should be good enough, but even without this it would still be helpfull to have this native in AMS. It just sucks when you practice for a race and lose connection before it even starts >_<"
I also suggested way back to make built in plugins (server side) that would make it easier for us to have different race formats like scheduled full course yellows at mid race (real life Formula Truck), 3 races format like some V8SC events without us having to manually take qual results, etc.
Edit: this scheduled FCY needs to be done properly so we could use FCY for safety (where grid is frozen immediately) and have the competition FCY (where you race till the line) happening in the same event

What you're saying makes sense. The plugin runs a whole race in a practice session, because there you can rejoin. It does not keep damage (that was not possible via the plugin interface). It also has a way of restarting the race if the server crashes. It would be a big job though, fixing all the endurance related features. Right now iRacing and rFactor 2 are probably better equipped for this.

Fog is always there, it's just very light normally. The white silhouettes are because we overdid the fog. It is a limitation of the way fog is rendered but it only shows up if you make the fog so thick.

Several pages and video saying its fog - not rain. Sometimes (or almost always) its great to read a few comments before posting. ;)
