Aussie GP cancelled due to covid

Maybe it's time they are going to race a permanent race track in ɐᴉlɐɹʇsn∀ from next year onwards. The costs and time to build up a city track are just not justifyable anymore in this pandemic.

Nothing to do with the need for a 'permanent' track, all about the problems posed by COVID restrictions. Capped numbers on who comes into Australia and the requirement for 14 days isolation doesn't work for international events, the Australian Open Tennis Tournament was a bloody shambles with the 'Stars' demanding special treatment. (Which they didn't get.)
The MotoGP round has been cancelled as well and Phillip Island is a very permanent track.
COVID 19 Variant D rules.

Not just MotoGP, they initially scrapped Istanbul as well.

It does matter as what I heard the main reasons to cancel are the huge costs and time (3 months) to build the temporary track while not knowing what happens when the GP actually happens in November.

With a permanent track the GP would have gone through for sure.

We have had minimal numbers of the virus here this year compared to other countries that are staging events and no deaths, Victoria is know to be a nanny state and this is just another proof of it. philip island is a permanent circuit but they have cancelled the MotoGP this year as well, so it doesn't matter if permanent or not.

No it would not! At this point in time Victoria is one of the few states to have no new COVID infections. The Feds have halved the number of arrivals into the country and Sydney has entered a third week of it's current lockdown. Re the Australian Open: yes it did happen but the 'stars' whinged and moaned about their 14 day mandatory isolation.
'Fortress Australia' remains reasonably safe and it aims to remain so, we are watching the British upcoming experiment the same way one would observe a growth in a Petrie dish.

Here it's being reported that an issue with Australia is that you're only reaction to Covid has been Lockdown and "Ports closed". You're rather slow in vaccination (~8% of citizens compared to say Germany's 40%). Works ok I guess but requires that you isolate more than others.

Yes, lockdown after lockdown we slow in getting vaccinated, the various governments just can't get it together and keep blaming each other.
The lockdowns have been overkill. One state went into lockdown because they had one new case and where I live is in the far regions of the worst affected state, we have only had 5 cases since the beginning and not had one in 15 months but we have been in similar lockdowns to the rest of the state and we have restrictions and have to wear masks, it is pathetic, overkill for where we are and how it has affected us. Even in lockdown you were only allowed out for 4 reasons. One of the reasons was not to get take away food yet all the take away shops were allowed to stay open!
It is just constant inconsistencies and double standards, no wonder so many people are giving the govt the middle finger when it comes to complying.

It was cancelled because Our Great Dictator Premier , Chairman Dan, He doesn't like motor sports he likes Tennis and Cancel culture and POWER , and CONTROL and Cameras and Attention! He also Hates small business and loves the CCP. Hopefully by November next year he will be out. He loves locking down the State of Vic. :) I hope Adelaide take it back from us. We don't deserve it.
