Kunos Simulazioni, by way of Licensing Project Manager Marco Massarutto, have been teasing some exciting looking footage of four new cars due to be released for Assetto Corsa before the end of August.

The stunning Praga R1, Ferrari 488 GTB and Ferrari FXX K will form part of a new DLC package, Tripl3, to be released alongside the game update to version 1.8. As part of the new update, Kunos will also be making available the Audi A1 S1 Quattro as a free addition to the sim.

All four cars have previously been revealed by the studio as part of their recent summer webcast, however the new preview images and videos present the first opportunity for fans to really have a close look at the latest Kunos offering. In particular the Praga R1 looks like an interesting, and little known choice to bring into Assetto Corsa.

Version 1.8 has promised further development of the core game "under the hood", with possible FPS improvements currently going through testing with a view to being rolled out as part of the 1.8 release. As previewed earlier, version 1.8 will also bring some visual improvements to Assetto Corsa, with good progress having be made with the games reflection properties and antialiasing results. Coupled with the potential FPS improvements and further expansion to the number of cars running v10 tyres, 1.8 could very well become one of the more impressive releases from the studio in recent times.

Assetto Corsa is currently available for PC via the Steam Network. Console editions of the game are due to be released at the end out August.

The in game videos of the Ferrari FXX K, Praga R1, Ferrari 488 GTB and the Audi A1 S1 Quattro can be viewed on the Facebook page of Kunos Simulazioni's Marco Massarutto - HERE.

I must say, I'm looking forward to that 488 most of all. Can't wait to see how it feels in comparison to the 458. All four should be great though.

Hoping 1.8 will bring some performance enhancements to my ageing GTX 780 definitely.
Also looking forward to the Praga and the new FXX K too

Performance and visual improvements are always welcome. Looking forward to driving the FXX K soon! This constant stream of content and updates is fantastic and I really hope that AC has a great console launch. The game has come a long way, and there's still so much content still to come. :geek:

The Praga, definately a competition to build around it.

Yes, the R1, 488 and FXX K will be at a premium. Hopefully it'll be reasonably priced like all of the other packs so far.

  7. I'm so hoping they modeled the electronic aids on the 488 GTB (SSC 2.0 for example).

Performance enhancement (my rig could use it for races with more than 10 cars involved) and new damper modeling would be other welcome addtitions in v1.8.

IMHO here Kunos is making a mistake in marketing.

The 488 and FXX are variants of cars that owners of previous DLC already have. The Praga is cool, but not super exciting must-have (like for example an Aston would be). I also suppose the licensing costs for it were not stellar since the brand should enjoy gaining a wider audience.

So, this would have been a perfect package to release for free, maybe as free only to people with a specific amount of previous DLC purchases. As standalone purchase, what can they reasonable charge for it, 3EUR? At that price they might as well have used it to leverage more goodwill and customer connection. Anything 5EUR and up will make them look greedy (compared with the JP for example).

Well, unless they flesh this DLC out with a track, Silverstone Historic maybe?

Yes I partially agree, DLC frequention is up to GT standards now and with next DLC's upcoming the total price package is becoming quite large. One can always choose not to purchase but then you risk of falling out of online competitions. We need all the current packs for ACRL for instance, some day there will have to be a brake on the frequency of these DLC's. I'm just glad I bought this game in early access.

If there is a circuit in this pack then I will probably get it but otherwise I am not super hyped for these cars.

  12. Won't the monza oval be a free addition? And was laserscanned several years ago when they did modern monza.

I understand your idea that total price is raising, but the only way for the price to remain on 40-50€ is if the devs stop working on the game. So I'm glad they didn't back in 2014, they continued to update the game and make new content. That's the only way to remain relevant in your gaming genre, to make things for the current and future players, and of course for the game itself and the company.
The price is to pay is the price they pay to license and produce all of this, divided by all of us. The gaming business is hard and complex, no doubt about it.

Very happy about both Ferraris, FPS improvements are most welcome, as I do have trouble with AI races, they clog out my old wooden PC and I have micro shatters in MP from time to time, but that's not Kunos' fault, but mine for choosing higher graphical settings than my PC could handle flawlessly, still, I hope even I will see improvements.
The other cars will also be interesting to try, and finally we get more v10 tires, because they are amazing.

That is true but let's just keep it all reasonable....dividing the Porsches in 3 packs is a bit over commercialising. 3×€10 > 1×€20 (just figure of speech)....if I understood this correctly that the Porsche pack comes in 3 DLC's? From my end though they have and will have received my payments for all DLC packs, no worries.

Any idea as to when the update/dlc will be available?

Not fussed at all about the street or "hyper cars" just overpowered missiles in a straight line & useless in the corners. Nice for a quick spin but not as much depth as the R1 (potentially) could have as a single series spec car.

August 26th I believe, to coincide with the console launch in Europe and Asia.

Personally I don't mind paying for DLC as a way to fund core engine improvements (though I won't buy DLC that's totally not my style, like the JP). However, I do mind paying for "Micro DLC", which two variants and a rather unknown car would be in my opinion.

I agree BUT in spectators mode these cars are very enjoyable to watch. ...dynamic wise.
