Assetto Corsa: Build 0.9 Released (with multiplayer)

Due to a few delays it took Kunos Simulazioni a little extra time to deliver the announced multiplayer functionality to the community. Today the wait ends as issues have been fixed and tested and are now available via a Steam update for customers.

Besides a whole bunch of servers provided by Kunos the community has start hosting the first multiplayer rooms already and of course you are more than welcome to visit the official RD servers as well.

The 0.9 upgrade of Assetto Corsa brings the following features to the PC simulation.

Working Features:

• Booking system
• Pre-booked clients from server admins
• Password protected server for booking
• Password saving for different servers
• Multi class races
• Race weekend (practice,qualifying,race) with configurable duration and number of laps
• Select penalty system or not.
• Track cycling
• Loop mode
• Maximum client limit, determined by circuit pit boxes
• Clients may re-join at any session if booked.
• Dedicated server available.
• 10 public official servers

Known Issues

• Official server are set to 15 clients and we will gradually increase the clients number
• with testing. Dedicated server is not limited.
• Wheels remain always connected on the ground, even if cars flies, jumps of flips
• Steering wheels angles might appear exaggerated, or inverted
• Extended characters in player names, are not supported yet
• Graphical active aero animations do not work on multiplayer clients yet
• Opponents skidmarks are not visible yet
• Opponents windshield are not visible in player’s mirrors yet
• Opponents suspension movements are vertical, wheels might compenetrate cars body on some occasions
• “Multiplayer options” option from the menu does not work yet (containing voting for skip session, restart servers, kick users, chats etc)
• Switching between sessions dirt on the car doesn’t disappear race session ends some seconds after the leader finishes the race

Those few servers are full everytime and u cant join during Quali, waited 20mins, gave up, will try later.

I have been patient. Very patient. Not once have i moaned about not getting MP or it being delayed. I am merely making an observation. Although the usual Forum 'saints' have to make everything that doesn't end with Go Kunos Go a negative.
I have paid my money like you i am entitled to MY opinion. We come here to discuss games. You want every post after an OP to be 'Agreed'?

Please quote me as to where I said you weren't entitled to your opinion. You have every right to be as critical as you want about Kunos. I personally think they handled the delaying of MP very poorly, that's my opinion.

All I'm saying that you shouldn't be so quick to heap on the criticism just minutes after the update is released.

Give it some time to settle down and things will improve.

If you read my post following that i have said pretty much the same thing. My only complaint is this Booking system. It may be removed for a lobby system (i hope it is for all our sakes). I just find it an odd way to do things.
I made a snap judgement on not finding a race to join. I am sorry but i am not prepared to sit here on my day off and wait for my ticket to be called so that i can have 20 minutes of MP racing. That's all.

Can we keep this thread focused on the MP please. Considering some have virtually claimed a right to Jihad in other threads over Kunos delay it would be nice to bask in the release, even if its only waiting in a server queue for the moment. Cheers.

Servers are not like Christmas lights, you dont turn them all on at once unless you want to hear a bang.

I think there are going to be a lot of small tweaks over the next few days. If I can't get on straight away I won't be that bothered as other people are bug testing for me. I do enough in my day job to know that's not fun!

Yeah ..... very nice Kunos, will try as soon as I get home. I´m having no problems with bumps in the road. It clearly stated that I purchase an early access version on steam.
I´m happy that it´s finally here and we can start racing online.
