F1 2012 Ai unrealistically fast when repairing/going back to garage.

Hi all,
first of all, yes I'm playing f1 2012 right now even though its almost 2016.
What I found out in f1 2012 is that when you are repairing the car in garage during practise and qualifying, the ai post unrealistically fast laptimes. This is also the case when you go back to pit using the menu.
For example, today I did qualifying in Spain. I set a fast laptime(about 3 tenths faster than my teammate at the time who was is the pits). I go back to pit using the menu, and suddenly i'm in last position with my teammate being about 1,5 seconds faster. Even though he was still in the pits when I used the menu.
Is there something that can be done about this? It's really ruining the game for me right now.

Essentially don't short cut to being on or off the track, drive out or drive in. Also never use time compression to speed up time or skip to the end of a session.

That's what I did yesterday when I did the qualifying again. Ended up 15th in a Caterham, so pretty good in my eyes. I just need to make sure I don't damage the car then and replace the engine at the right time so they dont waste time on repairing that either.

Looking back on it afterwards it seems that it was the True to Life ai mod causing this. In an unmodded game the ai even seem a little bit slower than normal when fast forwarding
