    Hi

Does anyone perhaps know a way to get the AI to lap other cars better?

On F1 S R 1994, the leader gets ahead by 8 to 10 seconds, then he has to lap backmarkers, but he's just stuck there behind the last car til the few cars behind him just catches up!

    Any help would be appreciated...

Didn't think so. It's actually astonishing how useless this game's AI is. And version 2, by the looks of it, ain't much better...

AI isn't that useless. Just change the driver in last's talent file to about 1 and then it might work.

Even changing it to 1, they still don't lap. So it is useless. But thanks for the tip.

    Try increasing AI aggression?

Doesn't work :( It's like the leading cars are too tentative to pass the backmarkers... Positional racing seems easier than lapping :(

Unfortunately it seems to be the main problem with the AI, it would be great if anyone knows a way to improve this. I have done the best I can, by changing talent files and making separate engine & HDV files for the cars, so the back of the field is slower, and the leaders do then get past a bit quicker. I also set the AI difficulty a notch higher to make up for the fact that I will get past backmarkers quicker than the leaders, so I end up with very good racing, but it would really top this sim off if the AI would pay attention to blue flags!

Another suggestion - give the top 6 drivers the 'AI learning' for the particular track, and this will make them 2 or 3 seconds quicker than the others, at least this is what I have found, I seem to lose about 3 seconds to AI cars when they have completed AI learning.

Great Tip mate :) Thank you. Will try that...
