Anybody noticed that AI at Istanbul is slow on the straights? It is like they do not push throttle to the limit (In particular in the downhill straight after the 4-apex curve and in the uphill section of the last straight).

Such a shame as the track is beautiful:frown:

It might be beautiful, but to me it feels like a computer designed track... It just doesn't flow ;)

To the topic, the AI is better than in GTR2, but its race script in certain circuits still needs some improvements.

With the previews patch (Haven’t raced against the AI with this one, although I don’t think it has changed).

The AI, at 100% and in the Nord, uses the brakes (at least to much) at Flugplatz (a non overtaking zone since it is a fast one liner with no room for error) wish can caught a distracted human driver, who most likely will be "flying" through there at 30 or 40 km/h more...

On other circuits it goes too fast on certain areas and too slow on others, but on all, it makes the stopwatch clock plausible times (Curitiba comes to mind).

In the end it’s just a question of scripting and the setup the AI might be using for that track…

The AI performance can generally be adjusted for every track but the Istanbul problem seems unsolvable as no matter of modifications made, AI in straight behaves really strange...

Maybe they are using a bad setup?

Nope...tried to change the setup... small improvement but still the flaw on the straights... I guess it is related to the fact they are not plain straight (that is downhill the first and uphill the second ...)
