6 Hours of Spa: Porsche Eases to Spa Pole

Porsche will start the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps from pole position after locking out the front row in qualifying on Saturday afternoon.

Building on their strong performance throughout all the Free Practice sessions this weekend, Porsche made amends for missing out on pole at Silverstone by taking a comfortable 1-2 front row. Just behind the Porsche's was the #6 Toyota who again held off both Audi's thanks to a slicker TS050, however with just 0.018 separating the leading Toyota and leading Audi, the battle for best of the rest in tomorrow's 6 Hours of Spa could be very fiesty.

In the LMP1 privateers Rebellion once again dominated proceedings, aided admittedly by the fact that the ByKolles entry collided with the #44 Manor, bringing out the red flag in the process.

G-Drive Racing continued their good form, securing back to back pole positions thanks to the efforts of Roman Rusinov and Rene Rast, whilst the #36 Signatech Alpine and #45 Manor cars completed the top three in the category.

Down in the GT classes Davide Rigon and Sam Bird also secured consecutive poles as their sister entry of Gianmari Bruni and James Calado were able to avoid drama this time out and round off a 1-2 for AF Corse in GTE-Pro. Meanwhile in GTE-Am the #98 Aston Martin stormed to pole, almost two seconds clear of the #83 GTE-AM AF Corse.
