TUSCC Makes GT3 Official for GTD Class

Eventhough many have heard it coming if they keep a pulse to IMSA and the Tudor United SportsCar Championship, but today TUSCC made it official that GT3 spec cars will be part of GTD class starting 2016 season.

In addition to this, it has also been announced they will follow the ACO spec for GTE as well.

This is good because this could open the door for teams that want to compete at ACO events like LE Mans, Nurburgring, and other ACO spec'd races.

I'm sure this has come from IMSA finally starting to partner again with the ACO in order to retain teams and manufactures.

Only thing I can see is that even though I love the DP Prototypes, it's sure as ever the death of them if the ACO doesn't consider a plan of involving the spec. Some say they have been cocking an eyebrow so to speak to it. Not a definite yes, but not a 100% no, more like 70% "no, not yet".
